FYI from memory the individual items on the app were more expensive for delivery, compared to store pickup.
this is in addition to the regular delivery charge. in case anyone wanted the cheapest bargain.

    • Yep, almost a scam. Free delivery, which is normally $8.95 from memory, but then they tack on $1 and $2 to all their menu items. The burger itself was $9.95, so it's hardly a good deal in my opinion. Perhaps if you just buy the burger and get 2 sides for $5.95, great, a big burger and a ton of chips delivered for $16, but when a few family members want food, it ends up being $30 with less food than a family meal deal. Not neg worthy, but no deal in my opinion.

      My local KFC pricing:

      Zinger Stacker Burger

      • Pick-Up Price: $8.95
      • Delivery Price: $9.95

      Zinger Stacker Burger Combo

      • Pick-Up Price: $11.95
      • Delivery Price: $13.45

Should they really be allowed to call this "free" delivery?

      • -2

If the delivery price always adds the extra handling fee, then yes. Fair to add 10% handling for food organisation. Plus i’ve found regardless of delivery service provider, they stuff up around 1 in 10 orders so you get the odd free meal anyway (eat the incorrect order + refund)

Report them to ACCC. It has been 2 years trend to say free delivery after jacking up prices.

        • -3

…. They dont up the prices just when they do these promos.. the prices are ALWAYS higher on kfc app delivery.. in line with the other kfc delivery aggregators. nothing to do with the ACCC loll

          • @[Deactivated]: ACCC has a track record of going after misleading practices. Higher prices for delivery while saying free delivery is misleading.

          • @[Deactivated]: I don’t understand why there is so many negs on this guy’s comment.

It is 100% true most if not all fast food (I know maccas, hungry jacks and kfc) jack up their prices on delivery apps all the time compared to store prices. It’s probably to offset some of the % delivery companies charge for each item that is sold via their delivery platform.

eg. You can choose to pick up via Menulog at a Subway/HJ, but their prices will always be different(more expensive) than if you order via their own app.

I'm lovin' it! The burgers really are better.

Not when you have haemorrhoids. There's a high chance that you'll bleed excessively from eating KFC.

      • Its not like you s*** out nuggets. Geez,

        • Never know, if you don't chew it properly you might.

Sadly delivered by DoorDash, dunno what it is about them but their drivers (or their systems) seem to screw up everything in my area.

Same here, have had a really bad experience so far. My very first delivery was 40 mins late and they gave me a $20 credit to say sorry, the next order was picked up about 45 minutes before it was dropped off. The driver went to about 3 other suburbs and dropped a bunch of orders before he got to me and the food was cold. They again gave me a $20 credit.

      • So free food each time? Not too bad if you have an air fryer haha

        • Well if you have a bunch of randoms that constantly dont know how to deliver food to the correct address and dumps them at your door, sure free dinner for the night.

    • So true… Was hungover on a sunday a while back and ordered from them as there was a deal running. The restaurant i ordered from was less than a 5 minute drive from mine but my order took almost an hour to arrive. Shit was ice cold by the time it got to my door.

Word of warning, I did a order for the hotrods kfc delivery, i got it with one of those feasts. It was for my family and they were having a couple of friends over. 1 hour after we had placed the order and 30 minutes after it was already meant to have been delivered / arrived, they cancelled the order with no detail. At this point it was so late to organise anything else for the guests for dinner that we just had to reheat some food we had left over in the fridge. It was embarrassing but more so really frustrating that they waited 1 hour to cancel the order. When i kept trying to find out what happened and emailled / social media posts, they finally gave me a refund and made it sound like i should be grateful they gave a refund for something not delivered. No extra credit or anything. Absolutely hopeless service. The reason they gave me was they ran out of a product, they could have called to say can we swap the product or give you a refund on that product but no after 1 hour they cancelled. And how does it take them 1 hour to figure out they dont have a product when the item was meant to be delivered within 30 minutes before they cancelled it.

KFC quality and customer service is very store specific. We have 2 within 3kms. One store is always fresh and taste great. Fast turnaround etc. the other store, is absolute piss. dry chicken, under cook chips, slow service etc.

  • I picked the zinger stacker burger by itself, and added a Shared Meal - Mixed Feast (with free hot rods). And it charges delivery fee of $8.95 :( 😭

    • Just tested this and it's working for me?

    • Just ordered a burger and 1x Snack Popcorn Chicken for $2.95. No delivery fee.

      • How did you get a burger and popcorn for $3

        • I should put a comma 😂.
I just copy & paste from the post.

    • Thanks. Got it. I was confused. They charge delivery and add a discount for the same amount. So it’s all good.

  • not working for me. charges $9 delivery fee even though it says free delivery

    • sorry I was stupid, apparently there's a singer stacker (free delivery) option. when choosing that you get free delivery

    • I thought the same. But if you check properly, they charge delivery fee and gave discount for same amount. Confusing. But it still free delivery.

Would strongly advise against using doordash - both myself and a number of people I know have:
    - Not received credits for referrals, and neither had the referred party (Doordash simply denied the referral happened, despite speaking to numerous people with the company)
    - Cancelled an order after an hour and a half, stating that a refund would be received - no refund was received. Spoke to someone from doordash and they claimed the purchase was never made and cancelled my partners account. After jumping through a number of hoops with paypal, this is still being resolved as we have to wait another 30 days for the refund to be received from paypal.

Scummy company, can't see how any of this behaviour can be considered anything but a scam.

    DoorDash? More like DoorTrash.
I've had nothing but terrible experiences with DD, avoid if and where possible.

  • 3x KFCs all within 3 kms from my address, all are out of range wtf

    • That sounds like the perfect location

  • Looks like either the KFC app, their payment system or their doordash integration shat itself tonight.

    • Tried to order a meal with this deal and error: "Sorry! It appears that we are having some issues processing your order".
    • Tried 3 different payment methods, all failed.
    • Give up.
    • Get two text messages a few minutes later saying doordash have confirmed the orders and driver is on the way to store.
    • Check my payment accounts, no charges?
    • Click the links in the text messages: "Driver on the way to store".
    • No clue what's happening, lets wait and see what happens next: "Driver is at store".
    • 1 hour later, receive another two text messages: "Your order has been canceled".

    What a wild ride.

    • Same here in mandurah, ordered twice, they both get canceled without explanation. i don't get it

    • Same experience as you except I was charged. Doordash called to say I need to get a refund from the store and the order is cancelled. The KFC store is going to voicemail when I call them.

KFC just stole my money pretty much. Criminals

      • Did this happen at the time or was the charge recent?

  • Roll the dice if you dont mind waiting a week for a refund after the doordash delivery fails.

  • Says couldn't find any drivers to deliver my order, anyone?

  • +1

Remember kids, if you order from a store running a free delivery promo your order will take forever, and arrive cold, if it arrives at all.

Also **** DoorDash, bunch of cog dunts..

  • +1

Doordash is so bad, the drivers always go pickup other orders, last time it said the driver picked up my order and on his way he stopped at the kebab shop for like 30 mins.

Zinger stacker slaps hard. Next meal when I'm on a diet break

  • Haven't had a Zinger stacker before, so this seems like a good time to try it out. Added the snack popcorn chicken too - Good shout on that!

    Thanks OP!

  • This is amazing!

  • Stuck at 'calculating totals' and won't proceed.

  • Lucky I read the comments here, almost got sucked in with the free delivery. With lockdown, the term free delivery just suck in people like me :(

I got sucked in this doordash promo the other day. Ordered the burger for $21 with 20% off and free delivery. I checked back the next day, that exact same burger was $13.99. F me!

  • Instantly regret this decision. My order was picked up over half an hour ago. Was due 25 minutes ago. But drivers going to all sorts of locations out of the way before my house. God knows how long before i get my rubbish ready food.

  • I'm onto my second driver… the sms/call function doesn't work, trying the 1800 number now…

Edit: finally got through - they will try and contact the driver.

At least my drivers seem to be stuck at the store.

Edit2: it eventually came, although 40mins off from the estimated time. The good news is that the burger is relatively fresh. Delivery aside the burger is pretty tasty.
