    Why the hurry exactly?

    • +1

In case Nintendo has a shortage of ones, zeros or God forbid… Both! Crazy world, anything can happen

After the mario party games in the gamecube era, others just haven't been the same/not fun at all. Seen gameplay of this, seems good but think it's better not to preorder (maybe in general, don't preorder anything)

    • Alot of these sorts of games feel half assed, but this one seems like it has decent content. Would have liked a story mode though.

Also maybe the art style has been done so much that it is a little boring.

    • we just got a switch and i couldnt wait to try out mario party.. it just.. wasnt fun

"Don't forget about the pre-order guarantee!"

Is that Amazon will guarantee to deliver it the following Tuesday after release date? Because that's what it should be.

    • I think the worst part is this happens with pre-orders, but if you order a game on release day, they offer free next day delivery for some reason.

    • I've pre-ordered two games on Amazon and gotten them both on release day (RDR2 + Pokemon Snap)

      • I use to get games on release date like RDR2, but over the last couple years i've ordered Pokemon Snap, The Last of Us 2, Tony Hawks, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, AC Valhalla, Crash Bandicoot 4, Borderlands 3 weeks/months in advance.

The only one that came on release date was Crash 4

I also ordered Cold War and Pokemon Shield, I don't remember if they came on release date but i'm pretty sure they didn't

My last couple of orders, I preordered like 10 months in advance, said release date delivery guaranteed, then a week before sent an email telling me it would be delayed because covid, blah blah, so I cancelled it and made a new order, and it arrived on the release date because that still gave the guarantee. Their system is fkn stupid

How much will it be for a digital copy?

I’ve been playing GameCube Mario party games emulated in 4K with dolphin emulator lately. So good!!

    • +1

Never mind I just looked it up. $79.95

    • $79.95…currently it's $68 in the eShop.
It's crazy how digital is more expensive than physical, every first party game in the eShop is $80

      • Edit : Sorry thought this was Mario Golf which is currently $68 on eShop

        • Mario Golf showing as $79.95 in the eShop for me? Though 10% off eShop cards at Big W brings it down to within a few bucks of physical - worth it to me to save changing cartridges.

          • @McFodder: Lol my bad…clearly I'm not with it today. I had an email from deku deals saying it was $68 but it was for physical, not digital. My mistake 😬

            • @Puglife: All good - just bought $135 of eShop credit for 10% off at Big W, will use that to buy the game voucher for 2 games to grab Mario Golf and something else. $62ish per game and won't need to change carts!

      • It's because they can't undercut the physical stores

Also Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda is back in stock for pre order

By announcing Mario Party Superstars I feel like they've abandoned updating Super Mario Party…

    • +8

Well, they recently updated Mario Party to include full online mode (instead of just minigames), but Superstars looks like it should be more like DLC than a full game. I'm gonna wait for significant reduction in price for this title

    • +1

NDCube are pretty much on a game a year cycle, not perfect but close, I'm surprised they did an update this year at all.

      • +1

Wow most of the games on that list are pretty poor.

They must get pushed pretty hard to release a new game every year.

  • +5

At this price, I am in no hurry to preorder. This game should be around the $39 mark…

  • +7

im still sour from the last mario party on switch…. Three boards and repetitive mini games.

promises of extra content that never came. This needs to be a shitload better to win me back.

    • I played thinking "surely winning unlocks more".
Boy was I wrong, that game is bare bones and really not that fun IMO

    • I wouldn't expect this gets any better. Look at the post above with the developers other games.

All of them are pretty poor.

  • +2

It's great that they're remaking N64 era boards (I own 1, 2 and 3 and play them with my original N64 hardware and controllers from my youth), but there's roughly 1000 minigames in total across all the different Mario Party's in existence now. Sure, a lot of them are reskins, game specific, terrible or even straight up duplicates, but this upcoming game is meant to be a throwback to the older ones and yet it only has 100 minigames when it could easily have 500. I just don't see why they don't slam a whole bunch of minigames into this release and drastically increase the replay value.

    • +1

Not enough time.. they need to push a game out every year.

  • +6

So they release half a game in Super Mario Party and now expect us to pay full price for a small selection of rehashed games? I absolutely love Mario Party but this is really shit form.

    • Yep, this should have been a free update.

  • +3

I want them to rerelease Bishi Bashi.

  • Ah the $60-$70 DLC to Mario party that we never got,
Nintendo are asking for people to homebrew!

  • Are there any stores offering preorder bonuses?
