  • Is it adjustable to 10x50 or 22x50?

    • +1

10x-22x the 50 refers to the lens size.

Basically what you said - from 10x50 to 22x50.

      • Thanks. Is the first set of numbers is zoom? From 10x to 22x?

        • +1

          correct..

eg, a pair of 10x50 bino's & 22x50 bino's, plus everything in between using the Zoom adjustment.

wondering how its comparing the skymaster 12x60?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Celestron-71007-SkyMaster-12x60-Bi…

I am a newbie on the binoculars, what I read is zoom / lens size ratio should be 1/5 to have a good view. Nikon could be too dark?

    • Yeah no pro myself but i imagine the 60mm will be somewhat larger physically, so it probably depends if you're after compact size for magnification or whether that's a consideration in your use case? btw, i didn't check the Skymaser to compare sizing though..

Edit: Going by Amazon specs FWIW, there's not a huge size difference but the weight is another story, Nikon ~900gm/Skymaster ~1.5Kg

      • +1

yeah you are right, if you going to hold it all the time you'd feel the 600gr difference for sure!
but if you considering to get a tripod (like I do) skymaster might be better.
Having said that I am not buying the binoculars till I can travel without restrictions (Victorian problems).

        • Yeah, totally depnds on use case, the Skymaster's do look like good bino's though. Obviously, the larger the lens size the more light will be captured also..

btw, Put a camel watch on those Skymasters, they have been as low as $88 previously..

    OOS

    • Wow, that was short-lived.. Maybe Amazon don't wish to sell too many at such a discount..!

I get a lot of looks when I use them in the street.

  • Any disadvantage going with the zoom adjustable ones?

    • That was the original deal post but they went OOS shortly after posting, so i ninja changed the product..

The 10-22x are the actual pair i purchased, received them the following day & they work fine..

      As for your question

Any disadvantage going with the zoom adjustable ones?

Depends on what you plan to do with them really?
