Buying Overseas Accomodation - No reply from Spreets or Villas

Basically the Email sent to spreets and nothing heard back.

I have repeatedly tried contacting Villas Indonesia regarding the voucher I purchased from Spreets last year. I have had absolutely no luck. The phone is never answered and just rings out until it is disconnected. I have been trying since I purchased. I didn't realise I could report anything with Spreets until I was speaking to a friend the other day, so thought I would go down this path now.

And she has since told me about these forums… My voucher expires at the end of March, and with a young son I would like some time to organise my trip. The office hours state that they are in the same time zone as me, however the phones are never manned when stated. There was an email address listed, but that was for bookings only and I haven't yet even been able to find out what dates are available.

I did send an email requesting someone contact me but have now been told it will be 3-5 working days before anyone will be in contact and I still have herad nothing! This has been going on for such a long time now. I am honestly over it! The voucher included certain services as well as accommodation, but what should I expect of that service, if this is the treatment I have received so far… I understand Spreets works with numerous companies, but this seems very unprofessional and I feel ripped off. How can I be expected to pay $569 upfront and not hear back from a company for months when they have already received payment is beyond me.
I have requested someone get back to me ASAP, but if that is dependent on them contacting the supplier this could never be resolved. Apart from the fact that I received an email from Spreets saying it could take up to 7 days…

I received ticket request #184861.

  • Have you tried to google the accommodation actual phone number online? It can be different to what states in the voucher, and their time zone online.

Wait for Spreets to reply, I never bought accommodation vouchers but for restaurant vouchers, it take them 5-7 days to investigate why the merchant is not contactable, and decide if they really have t do the refund. Once heard back from Spreets they generally honour that the voucher is not redeemable and issue a refund. Most of the time they will want to refund Spreets credit to you, but you should ask for cash refund (bank or credit card) if that is your preferred way. Don't worry, just wait and good luck.

  • Spreets has a facebook page. If you post there you seem to get a faster response than via email.

  • +1

    Is this the deal?

    Looking at this conditions:

Bookings are essential and subject to availability, must be made by 31/10/11

You may be out of luck trying to book. I suspect they have sent them an email or trying to call them and possibly waiting for a response. If they are like Scoopon, then if they don't receive communication from the owner within a certain time they will refund you. Hopefully.

They still seem to be open. Some recent reviews from the end of January. Some Spreets reviews from a couple of days ago. Looking at those recent reviews I would ask for a refund.

  • Thanks for the review link. I appreciate it. I have not purchased vouchers since my ordeal with Scoopon. Do spreets have a phone number now? I am assisting and helping a friend with this refund.

  • Issue has been resolved. Once again thank you to Neil. Those reviews really saved my friend a headache.
