Bose 700 is better overall, but several reviews said that audio is better with the Sennheiser Momentum 3. For those who want to be different or more discerning with audio quality ;-)

From this review

After an hour listening to each pair of headphones, I started to pick up on the differences in audio quality. The Momentum 3 has a bright sound profile, while the 700 leans towards the warmer end of the spectrum. I enjoy both, but there’s no denying that Sennheiser is the more refined sonic option.

No CR or SB cash back for this category, but you can save more if you have the Amazon Amex $20 rebate offer or Amazon GCs from SB app (2%).

The momentums definitely sound better than the Bose, but not quite as good ANC. I suppose it comes down to what's more important to you.

    • True, Tom's Guide confirmed that.

      • Dollar for dollar, Sennheiser is almost always going to beat Bose in terms of raw sound. When it comes to featuresets it's a lot more nuanced.

        • Not always. The previous momentum’s were not great, and the 3.x and 4.x are also quite bad.

  • Have these, fifth pair of senns. My son has the bose. I love the senns for sound, and ANC is less important to me (but still good on these). Bought from JB for $300 recently, but may not get that deal again.

  • Sennheiser is selling off its consumer audio business fyi - https://www.forbes.com/sites/marksparrow/2021/05/07/sennheis…

  • These have comfortably the best sound of the mainstream Bluetooth ANC headphones, though be aware they are pretty neutral (if you prefer a bassy “fun” sound, they aren’t for you). Much, much nicer than their old PXC-550 and I prefer it to the Bose or Sony.

But, I have heard the Bluetooth implementation is buggy and poor, which is holding me from buying them.

    • I've heard the opposite about bass - if you install their app and play with the EQ - the bass can get pretty strong & customised to suit your taste?
(I had to do the same for my AKG N700NC M2s to get any decent bass going)

    it's down to $320 now

    • Sadly I bought these yesterday, Amazon customer service has said they won't refund the difference in price. Oof.

      • Buy another one. Return the first. It is easy to return at Amazon, they even pay for shipping.
