Sup'yall,

At the risk of missing out myself but I think this is a very damn good deal yo! I have been watching this for some time and this is the best price I can find (if not, please let me know too)

From the Amazon blurb:

Withings ScanWatch - Hybrid Smartwatch with ECG, Heart Rate and Oximeter

ELECTROCARDIOGRAM — Detect atrial fibrillation or normal heart rhythm, monitor low and high heart rate in just 30 seconds via ECG
WRIST-BASED OXIMETRY — Provides on demand medical-grade oxygen saturation level (SpO2) in just 30 seconds
HEART SCANNING — Check heart beat and receive notifications when heart rate is atypical (low or high) and if irregular rhythms are detected
HEART RATE TRACKING — Track heart rate continuously during workouts to optimize training, and monitor daily and overnight heart rate to help improve health over time
BREATHING DISTURBANCES DETECTION — Detect breathing issues during the night and identify signs of sleep apnea

The price looks high but there is a message in the middle that I think appears for Prime members to access the promo price.

JB Hifi price with 25% off - $499.

On a personal note, I have Withings Steel HR Sports and they are excellent. My only wish is they have either Withings Pay and/or independent GPS it would be perfect. Their battery life is exceeding 25 days from my experience to this day.

Regards

Zz

  • Does anyone know whether sleep apnoea detection function has been approved by TGA?

If not, is it any alternative data showing/ measuring that?

    Thanks a lot.

  • Anyone know if these watches allow other devices/apps to connect via ble for heart rate tracking? Do they measure hrv?

  • Great watch - especially if you need/want HR/ECG functions - which I do. I put mine on charge each day while showering and when I do it still shows as 100% each time. By comparison I also have a Samsung Galaxy watch (LTE) and it needs to be charged almost daily - noting though, it has a wider spread of functions that suck power, including being a standalone phone.
I think JB HiFi's normal price for 42mm is $499 - that's what I paid 4 months ago (but used discounted HIM cards from Coles for effective cost of $424).

    • These watches go approximately 30 days before needing a recharge, longer if you forgo some functionality and it goes into Battery Reserve mode.

  • Why is it not showing the discount in cart for me?

    • There is a small message in the middle about promotion that makes it $399 for 42mm and $369 for 38mm.

I am still tossing up whether or not to buy!

But it's gonna be hard to resist with $20 cashback and 3% AAMI Amazon gift card discount!

  • I'm on the fence with this one - someone who has one wanna talk me into it?

Doesn't look like I can return if I don't like it (and have used it), is this correct?

    • Either you need it or you don't…. or you want it or you don't. Up to you to decide based on your wants and/or needs. I got one because I wanted ECG functionality and only watch approved at the time by TGA. Does it do everything I want? No, but I also have a Samsung Galaxy watch, which pretty much covers off on everything else I want in a smart watch. I generally wear the Scanwatch (so I have ECG handy if/when I need it) and use Samsung (as well) when I want phone functionality and I don't want to carry a phone e.g. exercising, mowing lawns etc. YMMV so you need to decide what you need/want in a Smart watch and which one, if any, is best for your situation.

      • +2

How do you use two watches at the same time? Genuine question.

        • I wear the Samsung on right wrist when I don't want to carry a phone. The rest of the time it sits on charger. I wear Scanwatch virtually all the time i.e. used as watch etc, whereas Samsung is really only used as a phone… that I carry strapped to my right wrist.

          • @bean_counter: Thank you. I was afraid you are going to say you wear two watches on your left wrist. lol.

You gave me an idea. I am convinced now.

  • JB Hifi Knox is willing to price match it to $399 but of course, you'll lose out on the AAMI 3% gift card and TA's $20 CR Rebate.

  • Anyone know a way good way to check which size is better suited for my wrist? I'm not sure weather to get the smaller or larger size.

    • 38mm is a much smaller watch. Kind of aimed at a woman's wrist. So if you have a slender wrist, go 38. Otherwise I'd say 42mm would suit most men.

      • I have just got it. 42mm is quite big. If you already have Sports Steel HR, this is even bigger than that (Sports Steel HR is 40mm).

So 38mm is definitely geared towards women unless you have a slender wrist as per ifreddo.

On unrelated matter, if you already have Sports Steel HR, the strap is compatible with Scanwatch (20mm). You can swap it. The vanilla Scanwatch strap is decent but not as aesthetically nice as Sports Steel HR's vanilla strap.

  • I almost missed this deal. Just bought it to replace my current Steel HR Sport.

Is it possible to link this deal to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/withings-scanwatch?
