  • What do you use it for? Do you have battery tools that may have a compatible chainsaw?

If it’s for occasional pruning, like a couple of times a year makes a difference to cutting firewood every weekend.

For occasional pruning just get the cheapest at the local hardware, cordless is great for this. Cordless is also good if you have a large yard or want to use it off grid. If for firewood in the backyard you probably want a larger blade and sturdy construction, cordless is also not necesssry.

Ohhhhh I see what you mean now. :)

          Cheers

  • Hey, mainly to cut wood for fire, removing branches etc.

no battery available. looking for corded electric.

  • I have Makita corded. About 10 years old, no issues.

    • i am also leading to that but reviews are bad.

need to study about this machine.

    • Are you Mac?

    • same, i've got an old uc3520a. It is a bit gutless on bigger stuff and hardwood but for limbing and general stuff it does the job. I think mine is about 8 or 9 years old. Just needs a touch up on the chain, clean out the tensioner and new bar oil every once in a while.

reading product review though maybe they switched factories or something… latest reviews are pretty bad!

a mate got a milwaukee cordless model recently and says it works really well for cutting stuff out in the bush

      • Yeah had a quick read - not great reviews. Don't get how so many people break the tensioner, unless they are forgetting to secure the bar.

Recently cut up about 20cm hardwood. Did the job fine.

        • probably people pushing too hard on the bar and breaking the tensioner - or overtensioning it.

  • Go victa 82v. They are amazing. You will never look back.

  • If you're happy with corded I would probably just go with the Ozito from Bunnings. I've got an Ozito cordless pole saw that performs better than expected. The warranty is three years and Bunnings are pretty easy going on replacing them under warranty in my experience, you just take it to the service desk at your nearest store.
