    Saving $125 for a refurb…. no thanks.

I think the refurb is normally priced at $625, but the discount code makes it $499.

Dual core lol. I've got a 7500u in my work laptop and can safely say that thing just does not cut it for any kind of multitasking or even moderate workload (mine bogs down with a couple excel spreadsheets, teams and outlook open)

Before Microsoft Teams becomes the mainstay of my work, I was mostly okay with dual core. But MS Teams really bogs the machine down when a video call session is on.

      • I was having that problem for a while as well. Something has changed and fixed it though. I don't remember what changed though.

  • What does a reskinned top cover look like?

  • The link says i5-7300?

    • specs updated on the deal thanks

  • Still questionable on pathway to Win11, which is unfortuante

  • Good unit for teenage students who will need another laptop in a year from ‘general use’.

What kind of warranty is offered if any? Website seems to also not mention if any.

Just an FYI for people, we only use Lenovo computers at my workplace and we had a fair bit of trouble with the T470 series, mainly with battery/power issues.
Wouldn't charge & power on in some cases.
Fair few phone calls to Lenovo about it, and fair few warranty calls and in our experience that's really rare for Lenovo T series kit so it was a surprise and the reason I remember it so vividly.
These ones may be different, but just thought I would mention it.

    • This one's T470s though, not T470

We had both, both had the same issues assuming they must have ran the same mobo or something and just things like the ram slot was changed in order to make the 's' models

Pretty poor value considering new Ryzen laptops were selling for, what, $650? not too long ago.

Not to mention the huge performance difference between gen 7 and gen 8 Intel chips, and that gen 7 laptops are now end of life since they're 4 years old.

These are $300 laptops at best.

  • 4-5yrs old battery is probably useless by now, or it will be very soon, perhaps better to buy a new low spec laptop :)
