martin_henry on 27/02/2012 - 12:30 ¶Is there any benefit using cat6 instead of cat5e for such short cables?

I did a quite Google search (because I asked the same question) and apparently there's not much difference?
http://www.cat-5-cable-company.com/faq-cat6-v-cat5e.htmlSomeone, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
And if I'm wrong … I might order another two CAT6 (if that's allowed, since I've already ordered two CAT5e)

They recently sent out a "February" email offering $10 credit if you purchased something from the same email. The email seemed to apply for the entire month of Feb due to it's title. No expiry date was mentioned on the discount. I did want to purchase something, but I didn't have time to look up the specs. So I clicked the discount link, saw no expiry mentioned, so I thought that gives me time to look up the specs. A couple of days later came back and clicked on the discount link - only to be told it was valid only on that day the email was sent. And when was the email sent? It arrived in my inbox about 4pm.
Oh well I thought - missed out.
Then about a week later they sent out a second sale email. It had the same item I still wanted AND the same discount. So this time I click it immediately to go and purchase the item. But it says it expired a week ago.
So I email them and the short version is, they tell me it's a mistake and refuse to honor it.
And yes, I have purchased from them in the past. But I still think people should know when a business refuses to honor their offers.

Pity they didn't honour the promotion you encountered in light of the confusion you experienced, they are one the few online stores with an active staff presence. They even maintain a blog which is nice compared to the usual e-tailer which is just a front-end for some overseas wholesaler. Used to be more interesting when they talked about the state of Australian technology retailing.

(So perhaps it's different staff now, who could care less about reputation - who knows.) I contacted them 3 times to politely inquire as to the chance of them honoring their mistake. But nope - bad luck buddy, yes we admit our mistake but we won't honor it - click our $5 discount instead. So I bought it elsewhere $10 cheaper (a saving of $5 over buying it from them after their discount).
