Yep looking at large capacity hard drives, some are already marked up by $100 more than can be found on staticice.
Anything closer to a competitive price (or decent quality drives like WD Black) are excluded.

      • To be fair though, the merchant has to pay Afterpay a fee for each transaction with Afterpay, so I'm guessing part of it is to cover some of the costs of that - since this is an Afterpay exclusive deal.

So how does this diskless storage work? Is it a new technology, like flash/ssd/m.2 storage?

Sorry, I am not a tech person and these new terms coming out everyday confuse me a lot.

    • Means you have to supply the disks to go into it.

  • Is that a good price for Samsung 980 and 970 SSDs? Do not have a benchmark to compare against.

  • oh ffs.
I would do this except my afterpay account is too new. i have a max limit of $600.

I have the entire amount ready but cant buy it because i haven't had my account for long enough and there appears to be no way to request a limit increase.

    so so stupid.

    • Heard someone mention you can pay the rest of the balance with gift cards. Not really a full 15% off but if you aren't buying anything that much over 600 bucks, it's still a pretty good option

      • I'm an idiot.

        I thought great… I'll do that.
My limit is 600, the item i want it 748 (after discount) I buy a $150 voucher aaaaaand realized i cant math, because the afterpay only works with the remaining amount after the gift card right?

        • Yep only the remaining amount after the gift card, although you can use more than 1 gift card per transaction so still salvageable

          • @rain-e: yeah i figured it out.

interestingly it looks like I got the discount on the full amount, even after $200 worth of giftcards were applied.

  • Big push to use the Buy-now, Pay-later services recently but no other deals being offered is a shame
