Catch of The Day - Bose Headphones ($119-$159)

57

Similar to the catch of the day headphone promo they had a few days ago…except its Bose only products.

Not bad price considering that the AE2s where ~130USD from Amazon and I got mine on boxing day for $160 from Myer.

Note: $10 postage

    JUST TO LET YOU KNOW!
    http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_…
this is OE model not OE2
bloody customer service told me that it was OE2i

but it wasn't. I just received OE today
f'king hell. My first bad experience with COTD

but i will go for AE2
    just ordered a pair.

if shit like this happens again i'm never gonna deal with COTD

    • +3

LOL it always happens. You're not the first and won't be the last.

    • Just send them an email complaining about false advertising, they sent me a wrong product and gave me a full refund.

  • +1

rrp of these is 199 not 249 as listed
price sourced from videopro was a lie as well they sell for 192.50
    http://www.videopro.com.au/p-3091-bose-ae2-audio-headphones.…

    • AE2 is still decent price if you were after them
      but OE for 150? absurd

and when you go on the specification page
      it says OE2
it was OE2i when it was a daily deal from a few days ago

Horrible horrible company to deal with. Advertise items incorrectly and then refuse to compensate their customers and go against retail legislation. I and many other Ozbargainers are currently in dispute with them regarding their Acer netbook listing back in Dec/Jan.
Look elsewhere before buying from this dodgy company.

    • What was wrong with the netbook listing, just out of interest?

      • +5

Adverised with 6hour battery life but came with 3hour battery instead. They then offer $10 compensation. Ridiculous when it was my and many others reason for purchase.. In addition to this all netbooks came unsealed and sent after 14days when netbooks were due within 14days to receive acer $99 cashback (also advertised)

        • +2

          that is bad

  • +4

Another hater here but i will never be doing business with COTD again.

Terrible customer service and would not refund/replace an item that was damaged on arrival

    • sorry to be an outcast here, but i'm probably 1 in a million who actually got a full warranty refund for a pair of v-moda earphones that i broke after 11 months of use.

      • I am probably the other haha as i also got a refund for my product that was incorrectly advertised.

agreed.. only had one bad occasion but regardless.. thats not the true nature of this business is.. it is fking greed..

I personally dislike COTD because they sell generally bad quality items and if it is branded quality its not even a bargain because the time it takes to get here and the cost of delivery..

By the way, on the rare occasion they do have really cheap things.. but the half of the time, you can find it cheaper online somewhere else!!!

Bottom Line, they got super effing greedy.. this site use to be really good.. actual REAL bargains with GOOD service.. now its a piece of rubbish.. they jacked up their margins and depreciated their service.

All because, they didn't want to cater for their increasing customer base..

Garbage company, will never deal with again.

I can't understand why so many people on OzBargain fail to take postage into account when comparing prices.

        With postage included:

        COTD ($6.95 shipping) $101.55
        Dealfox (free shipping) $99

        your post total fail

        :)

      • Deal fox rep kicks cotds any day of the week. REAL QUALITY customer device is worth $5 any day of the week.

        • Dealfox is actually $2.55 cheaper for the IE2 when you factor in postage, as I said above. And yes, with better customer service to boot.

      • -1

Maybe if you bothered to scroll down a bit more and read it's free shipping as oppose to COTD's $6.95 shipping you wouldn't fail this hard.

Never deal with COTD or Scoopon. they are swindles. and are related

    • I actually had a pretty good experience with Scoopon - bought the Perth hot air ballooning one a year and a half back, got screwed over by the Ballooning company a few times so I didn't end up using them. One email and I got them easily refunded.

Everyone else seems to be having a bad time though.

      • yeah its a bit hit and miss. ive bought 8 times off scoopon. and 3 times has been a fail. ive wasted about $200 on them. and the missus has wasted about $50 on them.

  • +11

    Not a deal

    COTD Never again!!

  • +6

Agreed re: Scoopon (who are COTD) - they are swindles. Too many people having too many issues, I can't believe they're still in business.

I've bought about 10 things from COTD and they used to be good, haven't had a real problem with them but they're no longer bargains IMO

Better off getting it somewhere else, bose isn't really value for money if you are getting headphones.

  • "There’s clip on earphones, in-ear cushion headphones, noise-cancelling and wireless headsets - all from this ground breaking sound company."

Which ones are the noise cancelling ones? None of them are from what I can see.

  • Never buy BOSE, and never buy from Catch of the Day.

No matter the price point, you will ALWAYS find higher quality for less money than whatever BOSE is offering.

As for CotD, far too many poor customer encounters (reported here, and everywhere) to take the risk. I used to be a fan, but no more.

    • +1

do a lot of the people who criticize the Bose headphones own them?, or have used them? I have a pair, and more than happy with them. cant get them to distort, feel great & sound awesome. lasted 5 years, still going strong!

      • 1) We have Bose headphones too, and they are GREAT - never had better (& have had similarly expensive Sony & Sennheiser ones) !

        2) I went to a place that had more than 150 different headphones, and I asked what were the very best set they had … and, by coincidence it was the same BOSE set as ours (Quiet Comfort 15) - and on this occasion I don't believe they weren't just recommending the ones they made the fattest profit on.

(I agree they can be expensive!)

    • Nothing really wrong with the BOSE headphones.. in fact they are fairly good… There life style sounds systems are way over priced but really you could do allot worse too.

  • get ready for crash of the day

    Hi All,

I would really like to sort out any issues you have with products or service. Please contact me [email protected] and I will look at the issue as a priority.

    Jen

    • email sent.

    • +2

      Email sent.

I will keep Ozbargain updated on any progress of my dispute.
Currently the NSW department of Fair Trading has contacted Catch but they will not budge. Fair Trading have advised that I may need to take legal action which though annoying i probably would do simpy out of principle. They are clearly in the wrong and it has been pointed out to many of their staff already via email and this fantastic site.
A day of leave and a small court fee to see this company squirm would put a big smile on my face.

      • Good on you. Apparently it only costs around $37.50 here in Victoria to go to VTAC …. but it takes 6 months to get there!

        • +2

Yeah it's the same here. I have a very close friend who is a solicitor and owns his own firm. I have contemplated speaking to him about it but it's such a small issue for him to deal with although i know he would if i asked.

6months is fine. Im in no rush and am quite happy to offer 6months of deterring comments to potential COTD customers if thats what they (cotd) want lol. Its the principle!

    • +1

I will look at the issue as a priority.

Email sent 1 hour 34 min ago. No reply or acknowledgement yet.

    • +1

does someone want to sort out my scoopon issues too?

    • This is just another tactic cotd use. No one was here to solve the issues when we actually needed them on the acer net book problem. Neither qqq not jen got back to any of us. They know because of that there are a lot of cotd haters and it has affected their sales. Now they are coming back pretending they can help and to trap more people who aren't aware of this. Not going happen as long as we are alive.

    go to COTD,
buy shoes (it has US & UK sizing)
they dont fit (check to make sure that my other shoes fit, just incase my feet have grown overnight … they haven't)
    call customer service
they tell me "some of our customers have had luck selling them on ebay"
tell them that "shoes listed of a particular size, should be of that size, if it's not the size that you've listed, then i haven't received what i paid for …
    they dont reply
    i forget
    see this post
    scratch head

    • +1

exactly why i would boycott cotd

  • Bose are terrible, Catch of the Day are terrible, this deal is terrible.

  • +3

I received an email from COTD (i suspect in relation to the email sent to Jen from COTD) and surprise surprise they say they can do nothing more than what has been offered.
What a joke! If your aim was to show that Catch had some sort of integrity you failed miserably and showed just how SLIMEY the ethics of your company are. You're only making it worse by pretending to help and then not doing the right thing by your customers and consumer laws.
