You sell these on eBay post-retirement?

        • +1

I Guess what PissLUR does with what he buys is up to him, Lego is a collectors item and it is a hobby that can also generate money, and some LEGO sets will become quite valuable after some time, its a known fact, same with most other collectable toys. he is not the only one who buys more than one, i do that too, i got two kids i buy 3 or 4 if i want, its purely up to me how many I want to buy. and if i sold it on ebay or any other trading platform in 10 years, winning! if not i still had fun building it.

          • @sammyla: I'm not having a go at PissLUR.

I just wanted to know why he would buy 10x - does he think he will make a good return on these? As you would need to consider eBay take 13.5% of the gross, plus you have time spent buying, unpacking, dealing with damaged product, re-packing, addressing, shipping, dealing with people, dealing with damaged deliveries (perhaps less of a concern with a tiny set like this).

Not to mention book keeping for tax reporting purposes, then the ATO coming along and claiming up to 50% of the profit.

I was just wondering really, I don't need to know, and PissLUR need not divulge his personal going-ons so no worries.

            • @DevGuy: personally i did not buy this item nor plan to buy it i buy other themes like Architecture etc. but then again there is the cheapest Lego that sells for $30 today that would go on to make $500 in 6 years, even higher returns for Free gift items from Lego. Owning a set like that can be partly due to luck and party due to good research one had done prior to buying.so we cant always think about pure profit, need to enjoy building them and wouldn't hurt to put a set away in your attic for 10 years, trust me on that..

One day you will study exclusive prices vs city lol .
And if you did probably 25% of RRP would be ok .
        Building only .

        • Are you replying to me?

            @DevGuy: That to PissL .
A clue for him is the cheapest LEGO on AMZ is what I've been stocking max every week on all a/c's .
First one gone through the roof and virtually unobtainable .
I given the clue as I think this will be the last week and I just did my last maxing :)

  • Thanks OP!

  • oh great

I am still occasionally tripping over the stray parts of the last one I bought a few months ago

5+ is more like 10+ for my kids

  • Man these things have resell value?

next thing lego is going to release its own NFTs

    • Man these things have resell value?

      About 15 years late there.

Only a handful of Lego City sets have somewhat decent value overtime and this is not one of them.

    • It depends, some sets can appreciate 600% over a few years, of course this item is not expensive but appreciation depends.
