With release day being a Friday this is a game I'll want to play that weekend. Amazon has struggled since Covid to deliver games on release day so I'll stick with JB.

    • shoot, is this a thing? Have some preorders with amazon at the moment

      • +3

every single Amazon game order I've made has arrived on release day for the last 3 years

        • Yeah that's been my experience but I rarely preorder games so I don't have a big sample size, and no experience during any COVID

        • +4

Every single game I've preordered from Amazon hasn't and usually arrives on the following Monday if it released on Friday, unfortunately. Maybe it depends on where you are.

          • +1

@Avantre: Almost every game in the past 2 years i've preordered from Amazon has come the Monday after. Only one game came on time, I think it was Crash 4. (I'm in SA btw)

          • +1

@Avantre: I think I've only ever pre-ordered once from Amz - TLOU2. It definitely did not arrive on release.

If you want to play on release day, don't pre-order from Amazon.

I had a few Amazon preorders last year that delivered the Monday or Tuesday after a Friday release and that was during normal days (ie. no lockdowns).

JB is selling at $89 now and I'm sure (hope) they will lower it to $79 before release so I can click and collect on release day.

Amazon has never delivered a game on release day, no matter what delivery you select. It's a known problem they choose to ignore and they give you some small compensation if you make a big song and dance about it. Everyone knows you don't pre order from Amazon if you actually want it on release.

    • +1

100% success rate getting preorders on release date. If you are serviced by Amazon Flex and it is a major release you should be close to certain of getting it on release.

If it is coming through AusPost etc then more risky.

  • +4

The pc pre order through Amazon doesn't mention what DRM it uses. I'm hoping steam (anything but epic really)

  • I'm waiting hopefully for a special edition with some collectible figurine or some such. Taking their sweet time announcing one.

    • Likewise. Did the same with Demon Souls but it never came to fruition

  • -5

I don’t buy base game, neither with all dlc or nothing.

    • +5

      You will be missing then

      • No I will wait 2 years when all goty edition is out.

        • +1

All of Sekiro's DLC was free from memory

          • +3

@Asterix1: Sekiro had post launch content but not really DLC in terms of size.
All three Dark Souls games and Bloodborne had at least one DLC each

            • +1

@FireRunner: Sekiro didn't have a real DLC with additional story or content. It was just a boss rush mode and some new costumes. And it came out almost a year after launch?

        • +7

I know this is ozB but waiting 2 years to save maybe $20 seems a bit extreme.

  • +4

    ps4 79, ps5 79.9 pc 79.

    xbox 89 WHY

    • +25

      Elden ring of death

    • Wondering the same thing. It’s like they don’t want Xbox sales or something

      • Less demand for xbox. Soulsborne series were always ps oriented

  • Op what is there to miss out on with horizon fw?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09FDCK9TG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_g…

    • It was cheaper earlier, $80 or so

    • +5

They're referring to the sudden short time drop to $88 earlier today.

If you had pre-ordered it yesterday at $109, you will now have $88 locked in via the pre-order price guarantee. It's updated in orders already.

So similar would apply to this, if you pre-order Elden Ring now and price goes up tomorrow, you're locked in to $79 max.

If either goes down in price between now and launch, you pay the lowest price offered.

  • +3

Excited for this game. The fact that it releases cheaper than Demon Souls is pretty good, I just hope it's as good or better game.

    • +1

because its not Sony Crap that they price it obnoxiously

  • +1

HZB pricing was only good because its a Sony first party game and Sony is price gauging the generation. Third party games have been much more reasonably priced, Elden ring was never going to be $125.

  • oooooh

  • +1

    ooooooooooooooohhhhh Elden Ring…..

  • +1

I'm sorry EBGames and other brick-and-mortar retailers, but this price is just too good to pass up compared to the RRP that most of you charge for.

    • It's only $10 cheaper than JB

      • +1

Hey $10 is a $10. Who am I to say no to that 😋

        • +2

True, would rather be able to get it on release day from JB though

  • +3

ive been so hyped for this game that i had to watch all 3 Lord of the Ring movies in one sitting satisfy my excitement.

    • +1

Yeah good call. Especially when the game is heavily linked to episode 1 and 2 from LOTR

  • -2

    Stop preordering gamesssss

    • People can do whatever they like with their money, and when pre-ordering can save you money there's a good reason for it

      • +2

Preordering never saves you on money if the game was never worth buying to begin with or at that time. Cyberpunk still isn’t worth it after all this time.

    • +1

generally I agree but I doubt FROM SOFTWARE could do any wrong.

  • -1

Ah yes the game GRRM worked on but has no in-game writing contributions. Sure to be great.

  • Don't pre-order. Buy it if it's a good game.

  • +1

If you have eligible games to trade in ($29 when trade in 2 games), can get it cheaper at EB.
TeddyBear mentioned the trade in for XBOX and PS5 AC Valhalla is worth $10 so it's eligible.

    • +1

I traded a tennis game on the switch and black ops 3 for xbox to get the $29 deal at ebgames.

  • or you could order from https://www.mightyape.com.au/brands/elden-ring and not give more money to bezos
