Does this really only charge at 1A? That seems like it would take a long time to charge.

    • I've got an old model, 1500A from Oct, 2018. It's charging at 5V/3A via USB-C

Bought and never worked on 4.0 Ford Falcon. Was sitting in Whoop Whoop and nearly smashed this piece of rubbish!

Which Brand you are referring too? You made same comment on other brands too. I think you bought some other random generic brand in Amazon or problem with Car itself if you tried multiple brands already ?

    • -4

I agree bought one for my Colorado when it was flat a few times could never get this to work, worked as a power bank tho

      • -1

Same here. Using these as a power bank now.

      Thanks for confirming.
I was going to ask for some real life examples of these in use.
I drive a 4.0 litre Falcon and wondered how something like this would go.
Any recommendations for one that would work on a big 6 or V8 etc?

I have the same model but the weaker 800a one and I've used it to jump my F6 (not flat) and my navara (which was flat) with no issues. This one should be better. Good to jump start a bike as well. Mine holds charge very well and has saved me heaps of times.

      • I've got an old model, 1500A from Oct, 2018. Jumped 3.8L Commodore a few times.

      • Get the Shumacher.

Sure vote me down! You will think about this when you are somewhere in Whoop whoop and the bloody thing doesn’t work. Yes I had this and the other model and both did not start the car in an emergency situation. Better spend a bit more when it’s about safety or your life depending on. It could be crucial if you are really in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, when I compared the jump leads on the Noco vs the Gooloo I bought the Noco.

I got one of these and it works brilliant. Over the nsw lockdown car hasn't been driven for 3 months and battery sitting at a tiny 8volts. Hooked this up to car fired up instantly.

Also check out repco for their ctek trickle charger on special for $115, these two are great companions for the garage.

These are awesome - has started my Diesel BT-50 numerous times whilst waiting for a new battery to be fitted and now happy for it to be sitting in the glovebox… made my old SCA 1900A jumper pack redundant which weighs 12.5kg and cost 3 times the price

    • How long does the GOOLOO battery hold charge?

      • recharge every 3 months or so when not using regularly.
I have recharged mine thrice already during lockdown periods as use has been frequent.
not going to change battery until we are out of this pandemic / scamdemic mess

        • I brought one of these previously not realising they are only rated to hold charge for 3 months. is there anything else out there in the market that can do closer to 12 months?

3 months seems great if you know your battery is already on the way out, not so great when you leave you're lights on and are especially lazy

          • @Nick7: 3 months is just my discipline and reminder. I don't know what the device is capable of. Haven't had it long enough to know as using it a lot these days.

Bought one. Now just need a car to jump start.

    • It's also 18000mAh power for blackouts.

      • I question that. I bought a similar brand (Grepro) which also claimed to be 18000mah. Upon testing it was just over 5000mah. They do some creative maths converting between mAh and wh, taking into account the nominal voltage of a lithium battery being around 3.7 volts. I've never tested a Gooloo but would expect it to be the same. Otherwise I'd buy four of them to run my fridge off-road.

Can confirm that this jump started my VW Transporter TDI (a vehicle that uses a 700cca battery). The battery was so dead that the central locking wasn't even functioning. Don't forget to press the "boost" button!

  • I purchased a GOOLOO for my dad who has used it on multiple occasions to start his car with a dead battery.
Very handy when camping and he says it works very well!

  • I've used this exact model (though maybe with the older lower amp marketing) to jump a front end loader numerous times over about a half hour until we bothered to investigate and fix the actual cause of the engine cutting out (blocked diesel fuel filter). Pretty useful!

  • feeling a bit tired of the same price deal on these.
time for price to go down

    • I agree. I also need a few other things at a cheaper price too, could you comment there too so the seller can make it cheaper for us? \s

Just bought the 20000mAh GOOLOO GP2000 on Aliexpress for $80.66 delivered from AU
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003036865747.html
…it's $89.67+tax to start with….add both coupons (one on product page click on "get coupons" for $13.62 off and enter the other code for $2.72 off at checkout) to get the $80.66

    • Yep can confirm it arrived within few days shipped from Eastern States. Had gooloo gear for 2 yrs excellent never failed

    • Mine's already arrived!

      Purchase date:
      7th Sept (Tuesday)

      Arrival date 14 Sept (Tuesday)

Interestingly it's in an Amazon Box with Gooloo Direct as the sender!

      • Mine arrived today also, unfortunately the the "Couriers Please" driver threw it over a 6ft+ fence onto brick pavers and considering it's just the Gooloo box inside the amazon box with practically zero padding I've asked for it to be returned. Haven't opened it but a quick shake and the sound and movement tells me there isn't much padding inside the Gooloo box either? Would you return it unopened as I am? Comments welcome

The powerbank has its own small carry pouch surrounding it

Mine was a gooloo box, in an Amazon box which had the scrunched up brown paper for shock absorption.

I don't think it would be damaged from a 2m drop

If the outer box is damaged, then the paper fill did its job to cushion the impact

Depends on which side the impact was taken (for the outer box) i suppose

          • @cwongtech: Paper packing was on the side of the Gooloo box, package landed on it's base and sounded like a brick dropping on brick.

            • @Baron-K: Theres quite a bit of void within the package due to the powerbank having some space for it's accessories

  • I bought one last year after 4 jump start visits from the RACV. Haven't needed a jump start since. Works well as a power bank, used it on the weekend to recharge my Eufys.

  • I got one of these to jumpstart my hatchback a while ago. It did work … eventually. It took a few attemps and some quick timing, touching the boost button and quickly running back to turn the ignition. I recently got my car serviced and there were no issues with my battery health, so that's a good sign.

If I had my time again, I would buy one of these with a larger peak rating.

  • Is it worth paying $10 more for this one? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/646834

Slightly more powerful, water resistant, quick charge input, comes with female 12v power socket adaptor.

Edit: looks like the above one has jumped up by $20, which makes it a harder sell.

  • I have one of these and it has been a life saver for when the kid has been playing in the car and runs the battery flat. (No he cant start the car as there is no key).

  • Spend the extra $20 and get the 2000A which is often on sale for around the $99 mark.

  • I bought this one last week when it's $89 - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08J2LM6VG/ref=ppx_yo_d…
