Paid just under $2k for the more expensive 2-in-1 (i7-1165 instead of i7-1185) recently via dell ebay store, so this seems expensive.

Just FYI - the UHD display is absolutely overkill on a 13" laptop. I've got it on permanent 200% zoom in windows. Not unhappy with the purchase, but if you go for the FHD instead of UHD, I suspect you wouldn't be disappointed or indeed probably notice at all, and you'd get better battery life. Most reviewers seem to say the same.

I have an older model (9380) with the 4K display and I like having it scaled. I like the screen be sharp. I dont think anyone could use it at 4k.

Primarily use mine at home so the battery life hasnt been a big deal.

worth reminding people that all mac laptops use high res screens scaled so they also look nice and sharp.

Yeah text especially is noticeably clearer on hidpi displays. Its nice as a luxury feature, like high refresh rates on phones, and tbh if I was spending over $2k on a laptop I think I would require it

    • Isn't the 9310 model a 2-in-1?
If not, what's the 2-in-1 model number? I'm interested in it.

      Thanks!

      • Both the 2021 models of the Dell XPS 13 have the model number 9130. One is called the Dell XPS 13 9310, the other is the Dell XPS 13 9310 2-in-1.

        • Thanks for clarifying! I almost purchased it thinking that it'd be a 2-in-1 as I never thought DELL would be so stupid to release 2 fundamentally different devices with the same code, but alas…

    • Hi mate, I am looking for laptop for work purpose as I am Software Enginner, Can you please advise which one I should for this, I am looking for Dell i7, 16 GB RAM DDR4, 500GB SSD.

Would be great if you can recommend me the laptop I should go for this.

      Many thanks for your help.
      Cheers

I bought this and returned it since it used to get hot quickly and kept blowing hot air on my lap. All this, when all I was doing was browsing the web. The position of cooling fan is terrible.
I then decided to buy my first macbook ever M1 macbook air and couldn't be happier. Amazing battery life. Keeps cool despite having no cooling fan.

  • Just ordered a new genuine battery for my 2015 version - old girls got some life yet - keeps on truckin'.

  • i've heard the i7 gets quite hot on this model. might be worth considering i5
