I have been looking for a good place online/offline to get some speakers stands for my 8" Monitors. I don't mind whether they are metal or wood, I’m just looking for the cheapest possible stands that can take the weight of my monitors which is about 10kgs each. I’m looking for them to be head height when sitting down at my desk so somewhere between 130cms to 160cms I guess. Any help/suggestions/experiences would be appreciated as I have no experience with these things

8" Monitor Speakers… 10kgs is on the lighter side for them really, it's mostly just wood, wood and more wood.
Also 8" is the measurement of the sub on each one, the real speakers are about 40cms by 20cms.

You can get second hand bricks from Gumtree.
I remember seeing an article on lifehacker, about making one using tools from Ikea- a nice thick piece of wood shelf, some small legs and nails etc.
I might have a search on lifehacker, I was considering trying to make something myself but I want them to be strudy!!
How do 8'' monitors weight 10kg each out of curiosity?
Well the cheapest option is to use phone books or thick books as monitor stands. They work just as well as the ones you buy, just don't look as neat I guess.
