    Another case of cheapskate syndrome!!

  • haha thats crazy

Thx only noticed that after 'daring' to click thru

Nevertheless a bit cheeky and i thought all Australian citizens were entitled to free medical care in the country

        • +1

Isn't it interesting that we all want all the social benefits, but still politically oppose the socialist!! But I agree with you, all the citizens should get the basic survival needs when needed.

By the way, its a good deal in my opinion.

        • He's not in the country… can't be treated here. He's in the US.
Still cheeky it goes on automatically IMHO

  • Thanks just bought a case. I was considering buying a few cases but i really have no idea how this stuff is, can anyone comment?

    • It's sweet, fruity, not very nice though, as expected for cheap wine.

  • +1

I got no idea how much stock they got in hand,i just bought another 180 bottles…hopefully quanlity is alright..if not……i have to use it for shower everyday….

    • +5

I guess you could say you'll be having golden showers.

      • +4

i get the feeling you actually know what you mean.

      • CHAMPAGNE SHOWERS!!!!!

  • editNVM got 2 dozen

  • +2

Why on earth would you buy 180 bottles of wine u have never tasted? Gifts?

    • I'd really like to know if anyone has tried this and can comment on the quality of the wine.

Hard to order just because they literally couldn't give it all away last time.

      • It was good for free, not something I'd pay for or buy again. It was an entertaining novelty for a while, but now too embarrassed to give it to anyone.

        A bit like a wine cooler…

God only knows what the previous poster will do with 180 bottles of the stuff!

    • Champagne (sparkling wine) showers

  • +2

Grabbed a dozen, Hard to argue with the price - though I'd not buy this expecting it's anything other than a very entry level sparkler.

    Nice find, well done OP.

  • +3

Tastes awful. I still have 11 bottles to go through in the case and I dread thinking about it.

    • clicks x after reading your comment

    • +1

Same here I still have 11 bottles too. It's horrible tasting.

      • Thanks for the in-depth review.
What? Is it off? vinegar? formic acid smell? too bland? too sweet? too sour? mouldy sock aroma?
Is it OK mixed with Orange Juice? :-)

        • +1

You definitely need to do a mix or punch out of this. It should be ok, but not on its own. Nothing foul or sour, just some off taste.

  • Bought 3 cases for $60 delivered - Omni standard isnt't too bad

  • Fastastic just bought 12

  • +3

If you don't like the taste, you can always make punch out of it - http://www.freixenetusa.com/punch-recipes.php

  • Never go wrong with less than $2 dollars a bottle of Omni i guess :D

  • +1

Its Omni. Should be OK. It is de-alcoholised, so should not be horribly sweet like some other low-alcohol wines.
Would have been nice to have this weekend, as it is stinking hot in Perth. Will make do with beer :-)

    • +1

This is not dealcoholised. This is a low alcohol (light) sparkling wine.

      • Have I used the wrong term?
They ferment it normally then remove part of the alcohol. As opposed to only partly fermenting it and getting lolly water like Moscato.

  • +1

Thanks cocktail. Just jumped on board and picked up a dozen

  • At $1 a bottle it may be good for an alcohol enema (do people actually do that?)

    • You drink enough you'll get a simultaneous alcohol gastric lavage & enema!!! ;)

  • thanks just bought dozen

  • I hope the coppers don't catch on and start breath testing us as we leave the Ozbargain website !!

We'll be over the limit for sure

    • I'm sure there are some coppers here, but they're hunting bargains not drunk bargainers ;)

  • Here on Oz Bargain it says the deal has expired but I just ordered 12 bottles and it went through without a problem

    • Me too. 9:00 am on Sunday morning and the deal seems to be still going. As a broke uni student, I approve of this deal :-D. I could use some cheap cooking wine too.

  • I just did it at 3:53am AWST - went through at $1 bottle.

Abit confused by delivery instructions.. picked the "Delivery Instructions: Please card if not home" - not too sure on the english here… i assume it means please leave a card to pickup from the local australian post office if no one is home to take delivery?

Anyone confirm/chose this? Just don't want it to mean that the wine doesn't get delivered and it gets sent back to the sender…. resulting in what i assume is double charges to get it resent?

@tanweiturk - that's craazy.. did you drink the omni before hand before making the plunge.. i hope.. abit worrying given the negative feedback everyone posted above. I have heaps of wine still on the kitchen floor, fingers crossed this isn't as bad as they say!

    • With this price,i cant stop myself to buy more :D

    • "Delivery Instructions: Please card if not home"

leave a delivery drivers visiting card to say that they attempted delivery but you weren't home.

      • well that's handy.. cough haha. i hope that means they at least then leave it at the local post office? if it wasn't delivered (which I thinkk it is?) by australia post, i assume private company couriers wouldn't leave it at the post office/it'd be returned to sender? or do private courier companies have drop off/collection zones? always been home when they've come from overseas or interstate couriers.

  • The deals still up if anyone still wants to buy some.

  • +3

still going got some for when the cheap ass family come over .also picked up the cheap ass beer from woolies with the 30c fuel discount
so paid only $15 for 2 ctns of beer now for some cheap meat so they never come back !

    • Bloody hell 2 cartons for $15?! Whats the deal for that one

  • damn, SOLD OUT :(

The quantity available for Omni Light Sparkling White NV is less than the amount you have tried to order.

I tried to add 12 bottles to cart, would only let me add one. bummer,

  • anybody receiving yet?

mine arrived this arvo ,wished it didnt after tasting it ,f'n terrible

    • How many more bottles have you got to finish?

  • +3

I have to say I'm a tad surprised by the large number of people deriding the taste of this product. I actually consider myself quite a good budget wine afficienado and going into tasting this I did have some serious reservations.

HOWEVER, its actually quite reasonable and I could easily go into the local bottleo and select a dozen other sub-$10 sparklings that I can guarantee you would taste worse to 9/10 folks.

Its palate depth isn't great, does have an empty/watered down palate. But the bead isn't harsh and the flavour isn't unpleasant in any manner. You really have to drink it for what it is, that being an alcohol reduced sparkling. On this basis its actually quite reasonable (unaware of competitors) and when it's $1 a bottle, well I think it comes to really very good value as an after work tipple.

Definitely not one to embarrass yourself by bringing to a dinner etc but as an alarmingly high number of folks still ruin good sparkling by putting OJ or strawberries etc in this would suit them quite well. So I'd not pay $10 a bottle for this but I'd happily buy another dozen for $1 per - good afterwork quaffer as a changeup from others.
