  • Do these work well?

    • used to use the liquid years ago and it was good, then they watered it down and now I wouldn't bother. Not sure about these. Reviews seem positive (on Amazon)

      • I cancelled my order, i read that the liquid works best.

It depends on the species of ant. This brand has worked well on two invasions i had. One invasion i let go for over a year so it took a week of daily application.

This brand and yates did not work on other ants invading my bedroom, also tried sugar and bicarbonate soda mix, the ants didnt even want it.

As soon i used another brand they came like hungry vultures for it. That was talon, but its a very small amount they provide but it worked.

          Honey and borax.

        • +2

As @Duff5000 said. The liquid is just honey & borax.

This is what my grandma used (& I do)

          1/2 cup of sugar
          2 soup spoons Borax
          1 1/2 cups warm water
mix & store in a jar (old Moccona jar work well)

Soak Cotton balls in the jar,
Pick them out when you need to use.
Place near ants nest & cover with cup (stops the sun & wind drying it out).
And I also pour some of the liquid down their hole.
Repeat for several days and the ant disappear.

    Don't click guys, it's a bait?!

  • Text on the front of the pack says

CONTAINS 10 BAIT STRIPS WHICH IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL SEPARATELY

Is that just a strongly worded, "not to be sold separately" or is there some law which says you have to sell these things in 10 packs lol

    • Glorious super happy funtime leader Kim Jong has decreed it…

    • I think its more about chemical labelling. There's no labelling/ ingredient list/ warning label on each strip, only on the original pack.

  • Will these work on termites?

  • Thanks OP great timing for me.

  • does this work with magpies? I hate Collingwood.

  • Anyone know if their roach baits and ant baits are basically the same product with different names for different markets?

    • They could alter the attractant. The chemical is the same though in both products.

I didn't know fipronil could be used like this. Only knew it as flea treatments for cats/dogs.

    • As Duff said attractant may be different but the active ingredient is identical. Also keep in mind the price is higher but you are getting 20g with roach strips vs 10g with ant strips. Enjoy :)

  • Keep on missing this deal. Sigh…
