Alright another Audiophile related post, this time around it's the SMSL M500! I think it's also available in black too.
Cheapest I've seen locally, heck even beat getting it imported from China.
Very nice balanced DAC, also doubles as amplifier too (albeit not having balanced headphones output). Great test result from audiosciencereview forum, I personally haven't tried this one, but it should be working fine paired with decent amp or by itself.

Also worth checking out MelbChiFiAudio Store. They have some nice Topping amps dacs such as A30 Pro, D30 Pro, code is usable on these too!

      Not trying to sound rude, but if you don't know what this is for, best not even bother.
      HiFi, along with photography, are very expensive hobbies.

      This is a DAC that decodes hi-res audio such as DSD and MQA. It's also an amp. If you have high impedance headphones, you'll need a headphone amp.

    How does that bode from a customer service point of view?

      Probably from earlier revision. Better get in touch with SMSL themselves I reckon. They're usually great when dealing with customer issues, if they can't fix it using firmware update, they'd probably send you replacement or something.. YMMV, such is the nature of Chi Fi unfortunately..

    For those willing to spend a bit more, lookout for the just released Fiio K9 Pro. It is double the price of this but it should be on par to Burson DAC/AMPs (about 4 times more than this deal).
