This is Aqara's latest generation E1 series door and window sensors.

The updated sensors utilise Zigbee 3.0. With Zigbee 3.0, the company claim you benefit from better security, increased compatibility, a more stable Zigbee network, and the same low power consumption you get with Zigbee devices, which will see the battery life for both products reach at least 2 years and possibly more. As with the original sensors, they will work with Xioami’s own ecosystem via the Mi Home app, as well as HomeKit of course.

It didn’t allow coupon when using USD. Ended up paying $29.54 using AUD.

    • That's odd, it allowed me to enter coupon with USD selected

      • Worked for me

      • thats ok. i’ve paid way more for just one before.

  • Does anyone know if these work with Conbee II? The Conbee is Zigbee 3, but I couldn’t see the E1 sensors on the Conbee compatibility list.

It's also not listed as tested and working on blakadder's list. Too new, maybe.

Given it probably is backwards compatible and it’s ZHA standard… I can’t imagine it wouldn’t work.

I bought two, and have a conbee.. so I guess we’ll find out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bought some, I'll let you know in 2 months when they arrive. :) - The original Xiaomi ones work so badly, always drop off the network. Hopefully these are an upgrade.

      • My older gen ones work perfectly with a zigbee2mqtt and a cheap $3 USB TI reference design board. Battery life lasts for ever. All still reporting 100% after a couple of years. Never drop off. Same with PIR sensors.

Only issue I really have is the temp/humidity sensor where the battery life isn't the best, as they transmit a lot more often as temperature or humidity change. Not exactly their fault.

      • Yes. My Aqara motion sensors are very prone to dropping off the SmartThings network and require them to be rediscovered. Quite tedious and annoying.

    • I've got a bunch of the previous gen (MCCGQ11LM) working with a Conbee II and ZHA flawlessly on Home Assistant. I'd be surprised if they'd broken that but who knows.

    • That's a negative. These are a new model which, but the community is working on getting these compatible now.

      • Thanks for letting me know!

        • No prob. My pack already arrived and i found out after a bit of searching when i could not get them to work.
tldr; they can be seen and connect, but the open/closed state is not recognizable.

Progress can be seen here: https://github.com/zigpy/zha-device-handlers/issues/1088

          • @stealthpaw: Thanks for the detailed response, I’ll keep watch over the issue. Hoping that it can be cracked soon. Knowing the amazing open source developer community, it shouldn’t be too long.

Heads up - these do not work 100% with the “Chinese” version of the xiaomi hub (looks like this https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRG1h8y…)

In app it works fine and open/closed state changes. Using Alexa, the state never changes. When I contacted support, they told me this won’t work and they won’t support it.

Since it works in the Mi Home app, I’m going to try different software like HomeAssistant and see if that plays better with Alexa. Suggestions?

    • I had an older one that was working great via the hub on the Chinese server through to Alexa. But in the last few weeks it's started behaving similar to what you described: if I completely remove it and re-add it, I get one state change register in Alexa and then it's stuck. State is showing fine in mi home app

      • Yes 100% same issues here. My old xiaomi and aqara sensors work fine but these latest ones cause same issues in Alexa. I was very disappointed after purchasing in last promo

  • Any discount for motion sensor?

  • I remember now why I never use Banggood. Purchased on the 7th, shipped today on the 14th after my packages from other places have already arrived in the same time.

  • Any advice on how to get this price? Just getting AU options only, at $43.01

    • Coupon appears to be expired. I found this coupon BGSP982 although it's US$2.32 more expensive than the price in this deal.
