  • Does it change from passthrough to battery charging after a powerloss with no downtime?

    • +2

No downtime. It will continue charging without downtime when tested with an iPhone

      • Brilliant! I've been looking for a passthrough charger to work as a mini UPS.

      • No joy. There is downtime.

It does resume charging from the battery but there is a short downtime which means any device like a rpi will reboot.

how many power Banks does an average ozbarganer have?

    • +1

      not too many 😜

    • Same as the number of eneloops.

  • USB Type C - But charges with MicroUSB?

Charges with both Type-C and MicroUSB as per the specs above.

  • Hi there. Any deals on the 66W gan charger?

Also can you confirm if stock of the charger is the newer variety with the regulatory / specs information is not facing upwards when plugged into a wall outlet?

    Cheers

    • Hi mate, the 66W GaN charger lowest price is currently $44.99 Link with same day dispatch if ordered before 12PM

We fixed the logo for the new batch but the specifications will still be on the top side. The new batch is expected to be delivered to Amazon warehouse by next week.

      • Thanks, is the stock you have available direct from your site the new batch? I.e will the logo and specs be the right way up?

        • Sorry mate. Stock that we have is still the inverted logo with specs at the top for AU plug. Have you considered the 156W max desktop charger? twice the price but gives you more power, ports and 2 years warranty

          • @ibelievesyd: No worries. When will the newer stock be available?

            • @lukeyluke: probably end of November. We'll have the logo and specs location fixed based on the AU plug.

I bought one of these a few months ago, as well as the 10,000mAh version. Been quite happy with them

Also bought the GaN charger when it went on sale. Old stock at Amazon with the logo upside down unfortunately. Annoyed me at first, but I don't notice now. It's a very handy unit to have. I really like how small it is.

I'd never heard of Zyron before, but so far been quite pleased with my purchases

  • Does the power bank itself fast-charge, eg when charging the power bank? Is that what '2-Way Fast Charge' mean?

    • +2

Yes. That is what 2 way fast charge means. Another concept where you can charge the power bank and the device (connected to the power bank) at the same time is called pass through charging. We'll write a blog soon on this subject to clarify these terms :)

  • Do you have models with trickle charging?

    • Unfortunately not yet mate.

  • We're well past overdue for switching to using watt hours as the measurement of capacity for these.
Amp hours is useless for many cases, especially with moving forward with varying cell voltages, battery voltages and USB PD.
