    • What about "dog spray"..?

  • +27

yeah just don't take into a teenage boy's room

    • +3

Huh. Looks like an 80's skating rink.

    • My other half said "all those pretty stars on the roof".

  • we got this for free some months ago via Ebay garage sell before they were not clever enough to sort out their vouchers.

  • +2

What has been seen, cannot be unseen. Buyer beware!

  • +2

Better not to know which surfaces have "dog urine" in my opinion.

    • +6

esp if youve never owned a dog ever

  • +8

handy when buying second hand keyboard and mouse

  • +1

Pretty handy when we adopted our pooch. She pissed on the floor twice before she realised she's got her own potty.
Luckily was able to carpet clean it before it really set.

  • Now my dog is gonna get it …..

  • +8

Ugh. All over the bed, the floor, front path and up the walls.

    Wish we had a dog.

  • As used by CSI agents worldwide.

    • Or for any UV glue such as LOCA or uv paint curing.

  • +1

Don't shine it in your toilet. you will never stand up to pee again

  • +3

may help you when danger comes

eg laying in bed at night, worrying when the scorpions are going to attack? Or am I missing something?

    • eg laying in bed at night, worrying when the scorpions are going to attack? Or am I missing something?

It depends. Some people don't mind when danger comes while others would want to clean it up right away.

  • Why not just use your sense of smell? And if it doesn't stink why would you care…

    • -1

      I don't think Covid smells.

      • +1

we're talking dog urine here right

    • Because it may not smell until the sun comes in and heats the area up. Better to get to the urine before the stain sets.

  • +1

Can’t tell if it’s urine, blood or sperm.
Michael Scott: oh God I hope it’s blood.

It's for moments like this ?

    Enjoy 8-)

  • 'Works Well in the Dark". Oh really? You don't say!

  • I bought one of these because my cat was stressed and peeing in random places.
The light seems to work, like it turns on and light emits from it. But it doesn’t show up fluids like youd expect.
I don’t know if this one is the same, I purchased mine from eBay, they do look the same.

    Maybe I’m using it wrong…..

    • +1

      Same, output seems very weak.

  • Love the bargains but here for the comments! (Bought one lol)

  • +2

    Thanks bought one…

Will go dog urine spotting as soon as the curfew is over…

  • +1

What about human urine? I mean I'm pretty sure I get to the toilet each night when half asleep, but how do I really know for sure.

  • Anyone used this or similar looking for scorpions?

    • +1

You talking scorpion hunting outdoors or in your bathroom? Bathroom; probably would work but the torches aren't really powerful enough I wouldnt think to scan outdoors for scorpions.

    • +1

I can't find the original ones I bought but they were just cheapies and look the same as this and they're great for scorpion hunting

  • +2

Perfect for inspecting items bought off Gumtree

  • If your searching that hard for it, my dogs got plenty i could send you.

  • Will this show mold?

  • Bought two of these cheaper off eBay a couple of years ago so might be with shopping around (~$8ea from memory). Good to have Amazon's returns though.

These are really fun to go spotlighting at night with. There are glow in the dark Scorpions, mushrooms, rocks to be found. Always make sure we have them in for camping. Also heaps of fun for kids in a darkened room to spotlight onto fluorescent drawings, etc.

    • +1

      mushrooms

      @ Helenn

Do they glow or do you glow after eating them?

      • Depends on the mushroom.

  • Can this be used to detect fake money?

    • According to here, Australian notes contain fluorescent ink: https://banknotes.rba.gov.au/counterfeit-detection/list-of-s…

      • Thanks, looks like it can do that:
UV black light with a wavelength that is centred around 365nm be used

        as the product description says:
UV torch made of 51 top quality LED lamp Beads, with professional 395-400 nm wavelength

        • I didn't see the wavelength details. 395-400 isn't ideal if the bank notes are designed for 365mm.
However, from what I've read, the cheap UV LEDs emit across a wide range, so that the markings should still be visible, even if not as bright as when using a 365mm torch.

          • @CacheHunter: D'oh! My bad, my ability to read has been downgraded since the lockdown…

      • Cash.. what’s that¿
