[Android] Amazon AppStore - Birthday Savings Week

This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

This deal is going to have a limited appeal as it's most likely going to be restricted to those that have:

  • Full access to the Amazon Appstore
  • A valid payment method

Regardless there are more then a few people here that meet this criteria, so I'm going to post it for those that would otherwise miss this deal.

Starting off with $0.99 cents for Plants vs. Zombies ain't bad. Fingers crossed for the rest of the week!

Tips for getting Amazon Appstore working:

  • To get Amazon Appstore working read the steps available here
  • If you are getting error messages try the workaround available here
  • Purchasing paid apps from the Amazon Appstore (source):

    • If you've set up the account with a valid US payment card then paid apps will just work. If the card you have registered is either empty of funds or a 'test card', payments will fail. BUT, helpfully, retrying payments can be carried out with any card, from any country! So, to buy an app…
    • Purchase the app in the Appstore on the Amazon website or on your device - the initial payment will fail
    • Visit the Digital Orders Page page and you will see your pending purchases
    • Choose the option to retry the purchases, this time using your non-US card
    • The payments will complete and you will be able to download the apps on your device

Can anyone this as a workaround for a valid payment method?

    Why is this a Deal?

Seems more like an Advert, to me.

fortunately i managed to pick it up when it was free on launch!

Nonetheless, i've kind of noticed a thumbs-down towards the whole amazon appstore which i don't get. Yes, it requires a bit of effort to access (and by bit - i mean it's not much at all, 5 minutes MAX and all the instructions are laid out step by step — in fact, the instructions are so detailed that i think it just LOOKS like a lot of effort). . but it's not for ONE app, it's a free paid app EACH day.

Since it's the Amazon birthday week, that means you could have saved at LEAST $365 (granted not every app is great).

        • I'm repeatedly clicking the +1 button…. shame it only works once!

        • Anyone put their real credit card details with the workaround that needs a fake email address to buy these?

        • The main dissapointment with apps that you "purchase" through Amazon Appstore is that it contains the Amazon Appstore's DRM in it as well. You need to be online to start the app the first time round. It sucks.

        • I've made like 5 accounts.. they only work for a while before being regionlocked :S
