This was posted 1 year 2 months ago, and might be an out-dated deal
If anyone is interested in developing apps for Android, but doesn't want to have to learn Java, Basic4Android might be of interest to you.
The provided code will give you a 50% discount on the Enterprise version which includes 2 years free upgrades and access to the forums for all additional libraries. The code is valid for 20 uses.
To get the discount, you must purchase via the Plimus link on the purchase page. You can purchase in USD or AUD, though I think you'll be slightly better of in USD at the current exchange rate, even given CC fees.

Or you could go here and learn it, as I am doing :)
CyberGenesys on 19/03/2012 - 14:28 ¶6, Java = steep learning curve but Android SDK (& Eclipse) makes a lot of it quite simple (particularly GUI creation which I found impossible in normal Java). The Android dev website has a lot examples and you can always start with the ol' hello world program.
IMHO, it makes a good way to learn Java basics, its can be very quick to build a basic app, widgets & notifications.
(by 'non exp peeps' I have assumed basic programming knowledge but no Java experience)
