D-Link 24 Port Gigabit Switch $67.25 (Was $188) in-Store Only @ Officeworks

440

Hi Everyone,

I was down at the Frankston Officeworks and these were being cleared off the shelves - there was two in stock when I checked.

Image link: https://ibb.co/FnMyTF2

The Officeworks website currently has it at $188, but the clearance tag was $67.25.

The cheapest I could find elsewhere is $160.98 at MWave: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/dlink-dgs1024d-24port-gigab…

Description from D-link website: https://www.dlink.com.au/home-solutions/DGS-1024D-24-port-gi…

DGS-1024D D-Link 24 Port Gigabit Switch

  • 24 Gigabit ports
  • Fanless design for quiet operation
  • D-Link Green power saving features
  • 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE)
  • Metal Housing

Enjoy.

"there was two in stock when I checked" min QTY to qualify as deal is 10 if I am not mistaken?!
Also as OP mentioned the website shows a clearance price of $188 and no stock in the entire Brisbane area.
So I assume this is only a local special with very limited availability - hence NO (ozbargain) DEAL ! ;-)

    • Yeah sorry mate about the low QTY, but I checked the Frankston store online and it also says they're "out of stock", so it might not show their volume online.

I was following the original price on the clearance tag, but you're right - I've updated the title to match the website's current price.

If it doesn't qualify as a deal then sorry everyone!

    • This happens all the time with officeworks deals. Sometimes zero real stock.

Whenever somebody posts an officework clearance item there needs to be a big flashing banner:

HAVE YOU ACTUALLY BEEN ABLE TO PURCHASE ONLINE, OR PHONED TO CONFIRM STOCK?

I'll just leave this handy stock check link here:

    no POE?

    • +2

      No PoE.

      • -8

then no use for most of normal houses. I can't think of any thing more than 15 devices, except POE camera

        • +2

          How about abnormal houses?

        • Roof mounted AP's.

  • POE gigabit switch at this price not likely

    • I got a 24 port poe+ linksys a few months ago for 80 bucks. Thanks ozbargain!

      • Gigabit? And most 24 port Poe switches couldn't handle too many cameras as they haven't decent size power supply, anyhow poe + switches are the best bet

waste of time , officeworks always out of stock for these lowest price .

You sound kind of salty. Show me on the doll where Officeworks touched you.

anything below 2 is assumed nil

      • Yeah never truly accurate.

    • +1
      • Whoever made it still hasn't fixed their dropdown menus.

        • Yeah I don't even bother with the dropdowns considering I live in TAS and there is not even an option for TAS. Luckily Hobart is at the bottom of the list so I just hit the 'end' key on my keyboard.
However, for any other suburb, an easy way is to CTRL+F on the ALL results and type the first few numbers of your suburb's local area phone number in. eg. "9846" for Castle Hill.

          • +1

@itsTricky83: Yep also living in TAS so it's pretty crap. Showing stock for all stores shows it at least.

    • Grabbed the last one on the shelf in Launceston, cheers

      • +1

I was almost tempted to grab it myself since I'm working up that way this week ;) Fortunately I didn't need it.

  • Thanks, OP. I can confirm that this is site-wide clearance as I managed to get one from the Alexandria NSW store at $67.25. Definitely worth a ring-around to some of your local stores if you're in the market for one.

Note: None at Pitt St, Sydney store (the only other place I called).

  • is this still worth having without PoE?

does it only help cameras? I think I have a separate box for that, what would be the "successor" to this?

    • If you need PoE then you will know that you need it. Its for anything that gets power via ethernet cables. If you need a switch then you will also know that you need one.

  • Just picked up the last one in Vermont South. Still had a ticket for 90+ but scanned at 67.25

  • Picked one up from Preston store, they had to look out the back for one.

  • Just grabbed the last one off the shelf at Frankston.

    Thanks OP!
