[PC, VR] Pistol Whip (Music Rhythm Game) $27.91 (Save 35%) @ Steam

130

Got another notification on my wishlist that the game is on sale again, bigger discount than last time however it seems the developers have raised the price by a small amount. The game has had some new tracks added to it since last time, however.

The game is a good workout (like Beat Saber) and it can be played on all major VR headsets (including Windows Mixed Reality and Oculus Quest 1/2 via air-link)

My understanding is that this game still doesn't support custom beat maps. Custom soundtracks are possible but the map isn't synced up to third party music. Buying the Steam doesn't entitle you to the Oculus version of the game (not cross-buy)

Do not buy the Soundtrack (Bundle) unless you want the high resolution FLAC copies of the in-game music (they're on Spotify anyway). Buying these will not add any playable content to the game.

One of my most played VR games. The devs seem to be always adding a tonne of new content.

Great game, but getting it directly on quest is better if you own a quest! Less lag and artefacts

Especially for music games, any lag is killer. You can counter with some calibration and a decent exclusive 5 or 6g wifi connection, but usually better natively running on Quest.

    • Yeah, but then I'm tied to the quest store. On steam means i can use it with any future headset.

      • Absolutely your choice, however I’ve found the latency in beat saber etc over wireless to be a real downer.
Oculus link has less lag but I find compression or sharpening artefacts may impact the visuals which look cleaner when run natively

  • Been waiting for this to be discounted on Quest as it's crossbuy (Rift/Quest), but looks like it has never been reduced on the official Oculus store.

  • Missed it by that much.
