  • Is anyone else getting a certificate error?

Pretty dodgy if it's supposed to be an official microsoft website.

I'm a bit suspicious too, though I didn't get a certificate error. The SSL certificate is a free one generated and sourced from http://startssl.com. Receiving one of those doesn't require any verification of identity or business, or any human interaction on their part. If I recall correctly, it only requires you to have access to the domain's DNS or the website hosted at that address.

The website is definitely NOT an official Microsoft one. The domain belongs to an Australian registered business called IT Professional Consulting (ABN: 60095879459). Even their own website seems pretty dodgy to me: http://www.itpc.com.au . I suspect it's a one-man business run by the registrant, Gokhan Kurtulus.

Maybe it's legit, and they don't seem to have gone to a great deal of effort to hide anything, but why Microsoft would outsource to them is beyond me. Make of it what you will…

      • The PO BOX address that it says you can mail receipts to is Microsoft's, but it's all too iffy for me to trust entering my bank account and other personal details into that website.

LOL "Purchases made from auction websites are not eligible for this promotion." Too bad a controller is $35 on ebay and $80 at Aussie retail

  • Any suggestions for the HDD for slim console?

Not sure…Big W have the 250GB HDD for $118 (making it $92), but you can get it for $70 from Ozgameshop…

  • I got a Kinect from WOW Sight and Sound for $139 last weekend. If you could score that and get cashback, that'd be a great buy!!

  • scored a 250g hard drive for $50 and since it's cashback off rrp and not what you paid, that's an extra $26 off. bargain

    • From where did you get that?

  • I wa thinking to get this:
http://dicksmith.com.au/product/YG2788/xbox-360-320gb-hard-d… for $105 and as the website says $30 cash back it will be $75.
But I could not find the product in microsoft cash back list. Available product is 250 GB one.

    Edit:
Confirmed from dick smith staff with part number, it has the cash back too.
