It would be hot if it was 16GB/512GB with $799

It would be REALLY hot if they, like, gave them away for free. #Seriously

I have had a not so good experience with ASUS in the last so would try and steer clear of it.

I've had great experiences with Asus. What issues did you have?

I bought an official refurb asus flip notebook inearly 2019, it's not only been rock solid, but I've easily upgraded the ram & hdd. One of my kids has one of these for school and it's been working well.

  • Where does it say this is a Ryzen 5000 processor? This is most likely a 4000 series. Model number in description is TM420UA https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/Vivobook/Vivobook-Flip…

  • How does this compare with a Surface laptop go 12.5" for primary school work (excel, some adobe stuff including indesign)
I like how this one is 14" screen and 1.5kg and you can turn the screen all the way around like a pad (can use for practicing instruments)

The surface book is bit lighter but screen does not flatten and a bit under powered compared to the Vivobook. The screen probably is better but seems much less powerful. I don't want some thing that struggles to handle a webpage + a excel spread sheet + an indesign file open. (Surface pro go etc are just too small in screen or way too expensive for what I would let a primary kid bring to school).

School didn't list specification for chromebook otherwise it would be good choice.

  • Price beat at officeworks for 5% off. They sell the exact same model.
