  • In case a review is needed. Have bought from here a while ago. Good store, comms, and selection of products. Nice to see you on here. All the best with black friday OP.

  • Used both the Conbee II and the Sonoff one and have had more success with the Sonoff one.

    • All well and good but what's the "Sonoff One"?

      • Sorry, should have clarified a bit better. It's the "Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle".

        • Do you mean this one they just released? Any good Aus sources? The ITEAD website has outrageous shipping and it's not on the Sonoff AliExpress store yet.

          • @Fuzzy Toaster: Strange, I managed to get mine for $24 delivered only a month and half ago. I originally bought my Conbee II via amazon a year ago and is set up at my parent's house and definitely was able to pair my Aqara devices easier on the Sonoff Zigbee via the same integrations on home assistant. Each to their own I suppose.

            • @white300: @white300 did you get it from ITEAD, here? I get DHL shipping for a whopping $55.33 if I try to get it right now.

My Conbee II has been acting up with my Aqara stuff (ZHA on HA) and I wanted to try this new Sonoff one.

              • @Fuzzy Toaster: Yeah that's where I bought it. That shipping price is absolutely insane now. I got the dongle and USB extension plus shipping for $27 sorry, not $24.

Yeah I had dropouts with my Conbee II that's set up at the parent's house. Same setup, both running a Pi 4 w/SSD, similar distances to the devices, same sensors and the Sonoff seems to just handle it better. So many variables though so my specific scenario might not represent everyone's experience with the Conbee or Sonoff zigbee USB.

                • @white300: @white300 Damn I guess you got lucky, the shipping has been crazy every time I've checkout out the Itead store - I wanted to get my Sonoff switches from them a year ago but the shipping meant I went to their AE store instead. Oh well, thanks for the info.

              • @Fuzzy Toaster: Slow shipping was about $8usd for me to Victoria. Just bought one along with 2 motion sensors and a door sensor. Hoping to salvage the $60 I spent on D-Link motion sensors on an impulse buy when I hoped they'd magically work with Smartthings natively. Unfortunately no luck. Supposedly works with Deconz but no idea what Deconz is…

              • @Fuzzy Toaster: I just got this one with only US$6.41 shipping, to WA.

                • @trapper: Yeah I figured out later that they only offer DHL to non-metro areas for some reason. If I set my address to Brisbane the shipping is quite reasonable, if I set it to Toowoomba it's stupid.

The Conbee 2 is a German made Zigbee stick that is fully approved for Australia. Then Sonoff Zigbee stick is a Chinese made Zigbee stick that is not RCM approved for Australia.

        • +1

And what exactly does this approval mean? I am using one and being able to place the Sonoff one in a central location was a gamechanger for me. Flashed Tasmota and has been running flawlessly for over a year.

          • @efheichr: Approval means that it has been tested to Australian standards for its radio emittance and electrical safety. The governing body in Australia is ACMA.

          • @efheichr: probably more to do with the sensors rather than the gateway itself, i have endless of issues with the xiaomi sensors randomly drop dead when their time come, some ikea is crap too, smartthings is good except for the button. The conbee stick is good as long as you don't click on that update firmware button.

  • ConbeeII with Home Assistant works well. Using it on a Pi4 ATM

  • Whilst this is a saving the $75 original price is somewhat misleading with the same Conbe 2 listed at $64 several weeks ago. So not quite as a big of a difference from $75 -> $52.50.

    • +2

The discount is from the RRP. Our prices are always low that is why you may have seen for less than $75.

      • That makes sense then. Thankyou for the reply.

        • Thanks :)

  • Any benefits over a flashed $10 CC2531 stick or just more user friendly setup?

    • Stronger signal strength.

Shipping? $9.99 standard and $15 express? Price not looking so sharp.

@smartguysaustralia did $54.99 shipped not long ago, I just missed it and I emailed them- they implied they'd be doing something for Black Friday. They've been doing $65 shipped all the time and you're at $75 plus shipping RRP? So 'your prices are always low' relative to…? Companies that come here need to take a haircut, if they don't they don't look so good.

We use Australia Post as they provide great service for our customers, we dont use cheap courier service. This is what they charge thats how we keep our price per item low. We do offer free shipping on larger orders over $200.

  • just bought this from amazon for $69 delivered with prime.

    • So you paid more than this deal?

  • was going to purchase, then saw shipping get added.

    • +4

If you are new customer you can use the code FREEONOZ :)

      • thank you. worked for me.

      • You really should have led with that…I ordered, this is now a very good deal.

        • Jeez you're not wrong.

  • Free shipping is a must these days. $59 shipped at SmartGuys at the moment.

    https://smartguys.com.au/conbee-ii.html

Also price was 64 + shipping just last week so the $75 strike out is a bit misleading??

    • +1

Price Dropped to beat that deal. We beat any price on a stocked item.

      • Same price when you include postage unless you offering free postage on it?

      • Sorry didn't see your free postage comment above

  • Down to $49 now. Bought.

    • I lose, I guess I shouldn't have ordered last night- I really wanted it by then end of the week to play with on the weekend though. Thems the breaks!

      • $3.50 difference, not worth worrying about.

  • Also guys dont miss out on our Black Friday Giveaway (Sensibo Pure Valued at $199) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/665224
