  • This or Samsung A52 for the same price?

    • What other main advantages has Samsung over Motorola? Like display quality features?

  • Wow good price. I'd spend the little bit extra though and get the galaxy a52s for $409 on Amazon.

    • What I appreciate of Moto is how consistent they are in updates, and overall specs for the price, but is a while I don't get Samsung after being disappointed by how short was the updates support

    • It's a shame that price didn't last.

  • A52S from amazon over this definitely. Samsung is better with updates and better Qualcomm SOC for 5G.

  • Just realised the screen size… I need a good deal on a smaller phone for my son.

yeh im looking for a phone that isnt 6.5" as well….everything is so huge these days

      • +1

An android phone the size of an iPhone 12/13 mini would be nice. Minus the notch

  • I don't need 5g. Is this better than the poco x3 pro?

    • seriously? Since I got 5G I dropped Aussie Broadband. Nothing wrong with them but why suffer slow speeds?

      • +2

I get about 100down/15up with 15ms ping. Not much to suffer in those numbers for 99% of phone use.

If you're downloading Linux ISOs on your phone, then I guess 5G maybe is worthwhile?

        • The S21u gets me up to 900 down in town and 300-600 at home. Best ABB had to offer was 450 which is not bad.

  • Aw, really? I only just bought it from Officeworks last week for $417 (price matched as they had $497).

    • +1

Good chance they will refund you the difference, just speak with them

      • Thank you. They did. I'll have to shop at OfficeWorks more often.

        • Nice, no worries. It's not just Officeworks, even JB does it (and sure other places).

I picked up one of these in the last sale. Specs aren't amazing but it's a good all rounder and feels fluid and snappy. Stock Android with no preinstalled junk or duplicated apps is very refreshing.

Call quality is excellent, haptics are decent, screen is decent, build is pretty good for plastic

The camera sensor is the same as the Redmi Note 10 Pro but the stock cam app is garbage. GCam works better but requires a bit of tweaking to pull out the excess noise reduction and sharpening

    • which gcam are you using? i also just got my mine yesterday and been happy with it overall.

        Nikita NGCam_8.2.300-v1.5

In options/advanced/experimental, enable pref_mediatek_key, this fixes nightsight crash

In lib patcher/first lens/global options, set Chroma denoise to 0.5 and Luma to 0.125, and sharpness to 0.125. This fixes the horrid waxy look.

Viewfinder framerate is a bit slow on all GCam's I've tried, but output is good. Slow-mo crashes too but that never seems to work well on GCam ports.
