Yep I agree, A80J is the C1 competitor and the A90J is the G1 as both have the brighter panels.
As for the Sony v LG debate that's up to your use case. It's pretty much movies (Sony) vs games (LG). I personally don't game that much and I much prefer the Google TV interface so would pay a little more for a Sony.
Sony runs Android. Letting me install apps of my choosing. For me that alone justifies the added cost.
Costco online currently has 65" A80J on sale for $3199.99 including delivery, valid from 11/11/21 - 30/11/21.

5900 was/has been the walk in with receipt from fellow online nerd for price match price for at least a couple of months now.
And therefore not really a black Friday deal.
The prices on the C1 on the other hand are genuine black friday deals imo. Though not the 2k saving as claimed by some retailers
Still I would much prefer the Sony.
Sony Online Store price matched JB's price of $5888 for me yesterday, however I noticed today that they have reduced it to that price now anyway as a few stores now have this marked down. Sony have free delivery at the moment and are also including a bonus remote.

Frankly a bit disappointed by the small discounts on the Sony A80J compared to the LG C1.

If JB will price match costco $3199 and use discount tcn cards in store, will bring it to just under 3000 before shipping. But don't know if they will make that price match. Sony and JB Hifi at $3495 pretty bad Black Friday deal.
LG C1 with 15% off brings it down very low but the need to use TCN gift card in store now means many people can't get the C1 with 15% off $2888 as not many stores have stock in store to buy.
Also if Sony price matches Costco, will cashrewards or shopback cashback track? I saw in a previous thread people saying they got a price match with cashback and another thread where someone said cashback will get rejected. But no one confirmed they actually got the money.
Sony online have matched my price request for costco at $3199 and they include a free remote. But if there's no increased cashback and the issue of cashback being declined then it is still not a good deal.

Wish these were a similar cost to the C1. Both are very similar performing TV's with very minor advantages or differences. There's really no explanation for a 1k difference in price
