Could really do with a deal for 32Gb 3600mhz CL16 ram right about now. Need some for the 11400 I just ordered.

Very tempting. Any idea if these are dual rank? I have a pair of 3600 CL18 that overclock quite nicely but they don't bench as high as my 3200mhz CL16 because they are single rank

    • From what I have read, these are Micron-B die. I'm not sure if they are single or dual rank though.
Rosman Computers judging by the same MPN says its dual ranking?

      • That's what I saw too so I pulled the trigger based on the Rosman info 🙂

        • got samsung c-die K4A8G085WC-BCRC on mine.

          • @Richardc: Can confirm these are dual rank and also reported as b-die in thaiphoon but obviously not. Tried a quick overclock and made my PC chuck the biggest hissy fit. Came to the same conclusion as you (c-die). Will be leaving these at XMP, they bench better than my overclocked 3600mhz CL18 single rank.

            • @drinkin-beer: Sadly I'm only able to reach 3000 with 4 sticks on my 7700k, will see if get better with my coming 10700k.

              • @Richardc: Damn, that sucks. Should definitely get better performance with that 10700k I would have thought. Best of luck with it 😆

@drinkin-beer: worst case just return 1 set, 32GB should still enough for me(50+ chrome tab with my lazyness), I got them from Amazon.

    This seems pretty cheap tbh.

  • Thanks. HT has my full support.

Consumers get misled so much especially when it comes to technology. Looking at the timings it's technically barely CL16 but that's how they are described. There are better alternatives given the low prices of RAM at the moment.

Would you have any suggestions on alternatives at the moment for DDR4 3200 CL16 (2x16GB)? Will be put into a Ryzen 5

Fair enough, but if you're going to make a statement like that, a t least back it up with some relevant info that may be useful to buyers.

Is there a comparison chart of the gains on higher speed and lower latency? I currently have 2400 cl15 which isn't the best but I'm wondering if it's worth the upgrade. Thanks

    Edit: i don't run benchmarks

The rule of thumb to compare is (CL / MHZ) x 2000 = real latency. So a 3600mhz CL 17 is 9.44, and a 3200Mhz CL 16 is 10. So not much difference - especially in the real world. Older 2400Mhz at CL14 is 11.6, not much worse actually. While cheap laptop 3200Mhz I saw had CL22 which is 13.75, getting much worse.

      • Oh and the PNY $85 3600MHZ (2x8GB) are CL18 so they end up at 10, which is exactly the same as 3200Mhz at CL16.
