When the $18 n150 deal was on the salesman in HN said they had 5 in stock but 4 were returned waiting to be sent back to manufacturer as they were all broken. He said he was happy to sell last one to me but warned against it as they had a very poor quality and reputation.

A word of advise: Stay away from Belkin, they produce flashy looking hardware with cheap(est) electronics
Not all Networking equipment is crap, I am in the biz and I can assure you of that, the world would stop if this was true,
Netcomm, D-Link, Cisco all reliable brands, but just as with cars, some models are made better than others
+1 voteCheers all for the feedback - much appreciated.
Given the less than favourable OzBargain reviews I though I better pull it out and try it….
My comments:
Setup, used the included CD and worked fine within ten minutes, no issues although not a fast program. Then jumped in and changed some of the settings like IP address, SSID, passwords, security etc no problems.Wireless, no issues with getting wireless network running WiFi-N WPA2 (TKIP for WPA backwards compatability and also WiFi B/G/N compatability mode for same reason).
Managed to achieve the following throughput at the identified locations / distances (using the iPhone speedtest.net app and only one connected wireless client, all figures averaged from three consecutive runs at each location):
Distance Ping (ms) D/L(mbps) U/L(mbps) 1m LOS 82 6.56 0.78 8m, 2 stud walls 80 6.55 0.77 15m, 4 stud walls 82 5.31 0.66 16m, 1 brickwall, 4 stud walls 82 4.08 0.77 20m, 1 brickwall, 4 stud walls 85 1.2 0.35 20m+ essentially no connection.
Connection stability, no internet dropouts or wireless dropouts (excluding walking too far away), but really only tested for 90 minutes from opening the box to putting it back in so hardly definitive.
Reliability, obviously will also only get tested over time.
For $57 I'm happy so far even though no gigabit ethernet.

I've got three TP-Link WiFi-N routers (couple of bridges) that I have been pretty happy with as well. And in further searching based on your comment I found that MSY have the TD-W8960N for $59 with what appears to be very similar specs to this Belkin.
