Received an email from the card network thanking their customers and wishing a merry Christmas. In the email is a unique code used to get $20 off after spending $50 on all cards except the MasterCard or Eftpos cards.
The best card looks to be "The Gift Card" as it has eBay and JB on it or the card.gift gift card which can be used to exchange for any gift card on the site.
Eligibility looks to be you have to had exchanged a gift card previously to get the email.
I got it yesterday. It was $20 off. I got a $20 gift card for free.
Fixed. It says not eligible when buy a $20 gift card.
I must have been naughty this year, none for me either.
What's The Card Network?
It's a new low in the world of gift cards.
Basically your employer (or someone who hates you) can send you a "gift value" that you then have to redeem for one category of mysteriously named cards for overpriced stores. Such as "Active/Baby/Gift/Her/Him/Home/Kids/Love/Online/Shop/Teen".
Luckily if you buy something using eftPOS (which is what the physical cards are) at a return friendly merchant they will only see eftPOS on the receipt. Ergo the cards could theoretically be washed to cash at JB Hifi etc, since they will either do a cash refund or just return to an alternate eftPOS card.
The cards expire after 36 months and this is how the company makes plenty of money.

IMO the best one should be the "Card.Gift" gift card which could be used to swap for all the gift cards on that website.

Placed an order an have swapped it for the gift card but it is delayed. Spoke to them and they are having some IT issues but working on it. Very friendly and apologetic.
The last ones we got came through super fast.

This giftcard retailer is annoying, i sent a eBay giftcard to myself, received and needs to activate to get the code WTF, "Sorry! Something has gone wrong with your card activation" is what I'm getting.
what's wrong with the ebay giftcard? can't activate it. sigh

Contacted support, they didn't understand my issue, gotta wait again for their reply.
The support is close to useless. I strongly advise that do not buy their swap type card, only buy a typical merchant card, in which case that you will be soon refunded (if your payment fails fraud check).
When I bought a swap type card, it was delivered soon, still not fast. When I redeemed it, it was simply another new order and asked more info including phone number. In other words, you will be subjected to two times fraud check. The eGC was available after a good 10 hrs waiting. I think if you fails the second fraud check, you will not get the eGC and may not get the refund for the swap type card, either.
In short, the payment for swap type card goes to TCN pocket (can be canceled at any time) while merchant card is the money out of TCN pocket (more risky for them).
I used The Gift Card to buy a ebay giftcard, received email with another activation link to redeem the eBay giftcard which didn't work, "Sorry! Something has gone wrong with your card activation"
I have said you were trapped. Maybe too late for you: Do not buy their swap type card.
