Logitech G915 TKL (GL Tactile) Wireless Mechanical Keyboard $229 + Delivery ($0 SYD C&C) @ Mwave

250

I believe it is the lowest price for this model. It is a very good keyboard if you want a wireless one.

Sadly, the models with other switches are not discounted.

  • I noticed the tactile g915 are usually lower in price. Is it that unpopular?

    • +2

I would say the opposite. They are the most popular, so Logitech makes more of them, so there is more stock to move.

      • Ah, that makes sense.

  • +1

Had too many keys break to trust these low profile switches again.

Went kailh pro purple, and Ajazz banana, and wont be going back.

Screw LT and their failure prone boards.

    • +2

Had so many problems with my Logitech G boards, the G810 and G613. Key chattering being the main issue.

The switches feel terrible anyway in comparison to others (Logitech's 'tactiles' which feel more like linears in comparison to others, Cherry's Browns aren't any better).

      • +1

        +1 on the G613 chatter.

        • Same here… It became a serious issue 3 years after purchase, after warranty expired. Cleaning the switches with alcohol seems to have worked for now but I don't trust Logitech switches anymore.

          • @Crimzic: Yeah, I did that but it seems like theyre just Sh*t switches. Even worse is that its not hot-swappable as theyre soldered in. I went as far as de-soldering and swapping the chattering switches with the macro keys on the side. worst.

I have been using my G915 Tactile for 2 years already. Its battery still lasts about a month or maybe 1.5. I even spilled coffee and water on it. I just cleaned it with wipes and air dry. It still works.

      • Where as I've had multiple near-eye misses, as my 2x G915's have had top caps on their switches break loose, and the kepcap/shell be spring-launched at my face.
        Not going back.

    • Logitech just sends me a new keyboard every time mine has an issue. I don’t even have to return my old one.

      • Hi that's awesome, which store did you buy yours from ?

  • This or the Logitech G815 (Wired version)?

What are peoples thoughts on the G815?

My concern is more around batter life and latency with wireless response. I know logitech had great wireless though.

    • +1

      Latency is 0.9-2ms, so fine.

But I dont move my keyboard enough to warrant batteries.

    • There are not many options when it comes to wireless keyboards, so that's why G915 shines. If you want a wired keyboard there are a lot of other options. RTINGS got a lot of keyboard reviews https://www.rtings.com/keyboard

G915 has amazing battery life, and you can use it with a cable if needed, so I wouldn't worry about it, but wireless makes sense only if you want to switch between multiple devices or want to move it around (e.g. bring to a TV) or you want wireless setup.

      • Thanks. And yeah, i dont need wireless hence why i was looking at the G815.
I'll check out RTINGS and see what's out there.

I bought G915 because I have a work laptop and a PC. I switch back and forth a lot. For work, I use its Bluetooth signal. For my PC, I use its wireless dongle. It works out pretty well for me since I can just swap back and forth easily. It does save that extra space also.

      • Ooohhh, a tax write off you say…

    • I bough the G815 Tactile, as I am used to having numpad and will not be moving the keyboard from my home office. That keyboard was amazing, and I really like the features, and it felt solid.

However, the USB passthrough failed after two weeks. Logitech been kind enough to replace it with the G915 TKL Linear as they don't have current stock n the 815. In comparing the two, you can't go wrong with either but I prefer the 915. I won't talk about the switches as they are different types (but yes, after using both, I prefer the Linear - but it's personal preference).

The 915 is a lot smaller, and fits into my work space a lot better. I never realised how much space can be saved with a smaller TKL form factor. The lack of wires is so good, I can just moved the keyboard if I need more space to take notes and even the lack of numpad is not as bad as I thought. Yes I still miss having it, but I would choose the smaller form factor any time.

Also, as someone mentioned below, I swap between the work laptop and my personal laptop on a daily basis. And the fact that you can just press a button to change which machine is connected is such a good helpful feature. Here's hoping Logitech would make the same function for their mouse.

    • i usually buy wired version …no issues with batteries, or dongle or blue tooth ….

  • No faith in logitech mech boards. Went through 4 g910 spectrums and 2 G815s (both had several keys with double or triple chatter out of the box) All replaced under warranty off the back of the first G910.
Its been a pretty well known issue since the Romer G switches came out.

    Never again

    Edit: a word

  • been using for the last 6 months, great keyboard. got it around this price with ebay discounts

  • Any recommendations for a low profile keyboard like this, but not this one? I.e. wireless, TKL, low latency. This looks good but the build quality is somewhat of a concern.

  • +1

For this price why would you not buy something that you can change switches and mod….seems way too much to be locked into one switch

    • +2

Because most people don't care. Keyboard modding is a niche hobby, and despite gaining popularity, is still a tiny fraction of the user base.
The logitech is also wireless with the lowest latency for gaming.

  • G915 owner here, linear switches and full size. Love the keyboard though took a few days to adjust to it. Great deal. I paid 279 for mine
