Acer Spin 1 14" 2-in-1 Laptop (4GB, 128GB, FHD Touch) $398 (20% off) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ The Good Guys

Decent value for a laptop with backlit keyboard, FHD touch screen, 128gb storage. Part of Boxing Day Sales at TGG. It would have been much smoother with these specs if it ran Chrome OS, but not too shabby for the inflated market.

    TN screen for anyone interested.

  • Any good for a primary school student?

    • If you are too tight ass this is ok.

Absolutely fine for a primary school student for their work. Not sure how well it would run minecraft or roblox, which is what most kids at my school play on their laptops.

  • $398 can buy better laptop? I don't like Celeron too slow?

    • What do you expect for that money? I9 with 128gb ram?

yeah this is realistically awesome value for $400

fhd with touch with corning glass + backlit kbd and its a 2 in 1 unit

sure 4gb sucks and emmc sucks and dual core celerons suck but for $400… i mean as a kid's school banger or a throwaway unit you can bring to work etc.

theres a lot worse out there

  • Might be worth installing chrome os on it. Windows always chugs on that level of CPU from my experience

I bought one of these even though I had read that case may break near hinges. "It'll never happen to me", I thought.

Top cover cracked at left hinge and screen de-glued.

Acer refused to fix / replace under warranty even though only 4 months old at the time.

I went into 2 JBs and the display models had cracked cases. I took photos and sent them to Acer. They still refused to replace.

    Do not buy!
