Philips Hue Gradient Light Strip 55"/65"/75" $269.95/$299.95/359.95 Delivered @ Amazon AU.
Cheapest I have seen on Ozbargain posts and it is Amazon AU.

I personally bought it. Will wait on buying a sync box that's hdmi2.1 in the future.

Any cheaper good other option a bit too expensive

  • This is the best alternative I think. Good reviews on youtube.

  • These are the same prices Amazon had them at for BF. I picked up the 65" at the above price and will be doing the same as you OP - waiting for HDMI 2.1. I'll be installing them on my 65" C1 tomorrow funnily enough!

    • have you had a look at the lytmi strips? They are very price competitive. I wonder if you have done pros and cons between the two brands. I bought the Philips without knowing about the Lytmi one.

      • Lytmi has a large latency. Make sure you can accept it before you buy.

  • How do you use these without a sync box? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Genuinely curious as I, too, will be holding out for a 2.1 box to pair with my ps5 console.

    • Connect to the Hue Bridge and just have a static colour behind the TV. And if you want to throw additional colours in, add a couple of Play light bars into the mix. I've got 4x Play lights, so once I have my gradient lights up, I'll see how it looks with the secondary and tertiary colour options also. Might be overkill and look crap though.

      • Sounds good. got 3 play bars and have been waiting for some time to pair with sync box but don’t want to compromise on a 2.0 box.

        • Same here. Considering how long the current sync box has been out, I can easily wait as long as necessary until a 2.1 comes out.

    • just as a static light strip like any other smart light

if you have pc connected to your tv or monitor. you can use the hue sync app instead of the sync box

  • Wonder how much over hang the 75in strip is for the 65" C7. Looking to upgrade to the 77 in a year or so.

In year time this be less than half price lol

  • Forget this and other options that have been listed. Look at the Govee immersion. Its amazing, just recieved mine from Amazon US and installed on my 82" Samsung, its simply incredible and reflects / reacts to screen picture very fast … makes watching TV so much more immersed.

Its the first true non HDMI solution as it uses a camera to scan the screen and then reflect relevant color in the LED. Also, its incredibly cheap, the larger variant (for up to 85" TVs was $120 AUD delivered).

So there's a camera hanging off the top of the TV to scan the TV?

      • +2

I think it can go at bottom.

      • Yes, its tiny though and when looking at the screen watching whats content, you dont see it. You can also mount it at the bottom.

        • Ok I seen videos on YouTube..not a fan of camera ontop of screen or below it.
Wanna keep my TV sleek and tidy.

          • @yellowfever: Fair enough but again, you dont see it when watching tv.

  • Or you want a proper TV bias light, look at the MediaLight Flex.

    No distracting colours or gimmicks.
