Best deal on boost sim at the moment, or ever?

We moved to boost almost a year ago from Telstra and haven’t looked back, they’ve been excellent and easy. The number change over took less than 15mins (I have heard others haven’t been so lucky).

For those who missed out on the $200 deal, see this one for $147.01 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/174592655785

When the $300 SIM card deal runs out you can get it here for $218.70

Can this be used as a recharge card?

    • +1

click the listing and read Boost Mobile $300 Prepaid SIM Starter Kit

    • +6

No, this is a starter kit, need to port out and come back

    • +4

@Mahip I have used one of these kits before, without porting out and back in. You need to launch a live chat with Boost online via their web site and they will do it for you. However in doing so you sacrifice any existing credit or bonus data you had.

      • Thank you. Will give it a go👍

      • According to boost the data will not rollover whichever way you do.(on long expiry)

  • ACTIVATE BY
    21 Jan 2022
    TO GET 100GB DATA
SIM CARD WILL NOT WORK IF YOU DONOT ACTIVATE BEFORE Aug 2023

Can someone let me know if I can keep this sim and activate this Aug 2022?
Also the above does it mean activate by 21 Jan to get 100GB? A bit confusing

    • +2

Activate by 21 January 2022 to get the benefit of extra GB on the current promotion but the SIM card expiry date until aug 2023, which I believe so from the description.

    • You can get 40G bonus data b4 1Feb 2022. SIM must be activated b4 Aug 2023 to work.

    • The description is a bit mixed up.

140gb if activated on or before the 21st of Jan. I think that should actually be the 31st of Jan. Check boost.com.au if you want to confirm.

After this, the standard offer applies meshing 100gb data unless there is another promo.

  • How easy to use if you're already on Boost?

    • very easy simply chat with boost online

  • +2

Thanks OP. Just picked up a $200 through the OOS link - $141.95

  • My plan is renewed in Nov so can this be used in Nov 2022?

  • wow that's awesome

  • -2

    What network is boost

    • -4

Verizon which uses CDMA. U need to import the unlocked handset from trump

    • -1

I'm not sure if this helps but my phone shows "BOOST", so I think it's the Boost network

    • +1

Boost use the Telstra mobile network.

  • Is it just me or does boost data slow right down around midnight? I had no issues 2 years ago, but during this past year, it always slows late at night. Can't remember when it started but at least 6 months ago. Can't even open Web pages often.

    • +6

Just go to bed. Problem solved.

    • +1

It's likely dependent on area. I'm not having any issues at any time of day. Telstra offers the best performance in my area.

Once $300 is sold out via main link, below is next best option with final price being $216.71. The SIM needs to be activated before 5 Oct instead of Aug for the SIM in main listing.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Boost-Mobile-300-300-GB-Data-1-Y…

    • How did u get it down to that. i get $249.

      • eBay plus member?

        • Think you are correct. i joined monthly, got the discount and see what happens if i cancel next month

          • @drivatruk: Anyone who purchased from this seller, check your SIM upon delivery.

Mine sim pack says expiry of Aug though the listing clearly saying activation is required by Oct.

You are going to lose 2 months so this is bloody misleading!

            • @Ash-Say: 22-08-11 exp date. Im using mine next week so all good.

  • Two questions - do any of these pre paid plans have 5g? Second, do any of them offer esim as a free option (I want to put my work sim in my Samsung s21 and use it for most of my calls/data, but also have a cheap esim option to keep my own phone number going) thanks

  • Have they added mms back to their plans yet?

    • I don't think their plans ever excluded MMS. I have sent MMS messages without extra charges.

IIRC, there are some limits to international MMS messages. You'd need to check boost.com.au for full info.

      • A user posted on a previous deal that MMS had been removed for new plans https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/649786 However it appears there is some confusion in that thread.

It looks like it may be available again for new plans(if it was ever removed).

  • Im currently with boost mobile and really happy with them but the 500GB Kogan deal for $150 a year per sim is reallqy hard to ignore. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/673111
Not being able to renew without porting out had me go back to Kogan's Vodafone Network. $150 is comparable to Boost' 200GB a year plan as well.
