i would suggest before buying this tablet people do their research. It is NOT Android 2.1 but Android 1.6 SDK 2.1 (Donut). It is the worst tablet i have seen (I stupidly purchased 2 of them when they were originally reduced to $50). Not only are they sluggish and have a resistive screen but the applications included do not work. Even after applying the update on their website only half of them worked. And there is NO access to Androids market.

    So you have been warned!

    • Does it have a USB output which can power a USB DAC and can it support WAV file? I've been looking for a portable unit which can power my DACPort. My iPad can support the DACPort, but the USB outlet cannot power it up without the extra battery source, which is a real pain. So I wonder if there is any other pad out there that can do what I need. Cheers…

And my warning: DO NOT BUY THIS.
The last round of BigW dreambooks revealed that most of these (including the one I bought and had to return) are refurbished and mostly didn't work. I wouldn't even accept one for free. Honestly. If you have kids and too much money, sure… it might even make a good frisbee for your dog, I dunno. ;o)

Even the kids wouldn't want this crap…. Stay away as far as you could.

  • I bought 2 & returned as above they lied what version of android was on it & it is shit…. It cant even play angry birds for kids as it freezes…. dont buy it its CR*P

  • DO NOT BUY THESE.

    Save up & buy something…anything…sensible.

You'll just waste your time trying to get it working.

You'll just waste your money sending it back for a refund.

Even for FREE they are not a bargain.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There is no point in buying a resistive screen in this day and age.

  • I bought one of these when they were reduced to $50, it was for my 4 year old son, it even frustrates him! not even good for a kids toy im afraid, after weeks of messing with it I gave up.

  • Not Pioneer electronics, but Pioneer computers.

Are these the ones that Dodo were handing out for free?

  • As per advice abobve, this device isn't worth your time even if BigW pay YOU $45 to take it from them!
They have been slowly creeping down in price as word spreads of how truly awful they are.

  • I know a few people that bought these as e-readers, then returned them pronto!

If anybody wanted something for that purpose you'd be far better off to pony up the few extra bucks & buy one of the $99 Kindle Keyboard refurbs that are still doing the rounds.

If see one of these…..slowly turn around and walk away as fast as you can

  • Product page with specs: http://www.pioneercomputers.com.au/products/info.asp?c1=183&…

It has a 533mhz CPU but from what I've read it crashes if clocked over 400mhz. Garbage.

Even the company's own video makes it look terrible!

  • e-waste!

  • i bought a few and one of them came with crack screen another unit scratchy on the surface.
