CarbonTwelve on 16/04/2012 - 12:03 ¶I'm using the Logitech G930 and I'm very happy with it. I got mine from the Logitech Shop for ~$130 I think, but they're not listed there atm - not sure why…

Not sure either. They might advertise with stock levels.
I've found that occasionally their eBay site has products that the official logitechshop website does not list.
Worth a look sometimes: http://stores.ebay.com.au/logitechaustralia/pages/products

+3 votesI use one of these purely for gaming, owned them for about 6 months now.
Pros:
7.1 for gaming - i was sceptical as it was 'simulated' but I am greatly impressed with the accuracy of the simulation. Has helped me countless times in actually pinpointing the location of an enemy particularly during close quarter 1v1 situations. (mw3)
Awesome sound quality, I have found the high/mids/lows to be all very balanced (games)
Long gameplay on a single charge (8hrs)
Large ear cups really comfy
Wireless range is impressiveCons:
Plastic mic feels cheap, scared it will snap
Not bluetooth (wireless dongle)
Mic abit quiet in cod, might be a firmware issue though as it is perfect in bf3
Useless for movies/music (quality is lacking - my entry level sennys are much better)Only buy if using for ps3 gaming! Highly recommended
For anything else, not worth the money!
+1 voteAll 'surround' headsets with one driver in each earcup will be simulated. The only true surround headsets are those with multiple drivers in each eachcup such as the tritton ax pro (around $300rrp) which have 4 physical drivers in each each.
I believe this ps3 headset does use the 7.1 signal but does some fancy mixing to stereo for the simulated 7.1.

dastrangle on 16/04/2012 - 19:37 ¶If you missed out on this deal..
oz game shop have the same item at 94.99 with free shipping
so really if you were going to have it shipped anyway it's going to cost you $1.09 more than with the original deal.
I talked to one of the sales staff. Their warehouse is in the UK, and shipping takes 4-12 working days but from customer feedback; generally about 7 working days.http://www.ozgameshop.com/ps3-accessories/official-sony-wire...
leonheart1 on 16/04/2012 - 21:46 ¶Apparently getting the G930 to work with the PS3 is a PITA whereas the Logitech F540 works with both.
Cheapest on eBay is $105 for the F540.
Not sure which one is better, the F540 or the official PS3 headset for around $95.
CarbonTwelve on 17/04/2012 - 11:45 ¶Yeah the G930 is PC only. I only mentioned it because someone asked for one for PC.
