MANU7D is doing their best mate.

From what he said and wrote, he's need to visit specsavers mate

    • No problemo, it's good you've recognised it; don't know why everyone here is salting the wound

  • +1

    Absolutely fantastic coffee liqueur đź‘Ť

  • +2

Anyone know how this compares to the discontinued Patron?

    • +3

Very different flavour. Patron is tells based and you can taste that, whereas this is much cleaner coffee taste. I prefer the patron on ice but this is still pretty good. Patron has a higher ABV and O prefer it neat, for cocktails it will make less of a difference. Cascabel coffee tequila is a pretty good coffee tequila to try too

      This one is continued

    • +1

Patron is (was) infused tequila - an actual spirit vs this which is a liquor. You can drink it fine with ice or milk but I like it best in cocktails.

  • -4

    It's low alcohol. 23% ABV, 12.7 standard drinks. $3.50 a STD.

    • +5

..it's a liqueur, mate? Liqueurs are generally 15-30%, most sitting around the 17-21% mark.

    • +1

Used to be 25%, must have dropped slightly. I still have a 25% bottle at home.

    • -1

You can get STDs much cheaper than that ;)

  • Found this to be a nice drop too.

Would you buy this for mostly cocktails coffee martinis etc or can you also drink straight with ice like baileys?

    • +7

I just add a shot with my morning coffee

    • +2

You can definitely drink straight with ice. Or a bit of milk and icecream for a cheeky affogato. Or even just a bit of milk and ice and it's like a boozy iced coffee.
      It's really good stuff.

  • a dazzle of this on home made xmas pudding with custard was delish

    How do you drink this?

    • I drink it with ice

How do you drink it with their mouth?

Can also go up the date for more rapid caffeine absorption.

    • Espresso martinis

      • How do you make this?

        As per below comment:
Add equal measures of coffee, vodka and Mr Black, lots of ice and shake.

        • The vodka is usually doubled, any decent vodka won't alter the flavour too much in a 2 parts vodka ratio.

Depends how strong you want them :)

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/espresso-martini (skip the sugar/simple syrup, Mr Black already has enough)

          https://www.recipetineats.com/espresso-martini/

        • I would add that mixing in some sugar syrup might be necessary. Mr Black is less sweet than something like kahlua.

          This is my current recipe:
          1 part Mr Black
1 part vodka - not important which type, as long as it's fairly clean
1 or 2 parts filter or cold brew coffee - I don't have a coffee machine
1 teaspoon of agave syrup or sugar syrup
          1 dash of orange bitters

Shake with a few ice cubes, much longer if the coffee is hot

It's probably quite a different drink with an actual espresso shot instead, but this has been doing the job for a while. I've tried a smooth whisky instead of vodka too and it can be okay, but vodka gets much less in the way.

    • With milk

  • Espresso martini’s!!

This makes the best espresso Martinis. Add equal measures of coffee, vodka and Mr Black, lots of ice and shake.

  • +1

Would this be good for tiramisu?

  • Kahlua is cheaper for $29.99 700ml
