Great value 2021 model TV with Quantum dots and full array local dimming. Most retailers have this for around $1999 at the moment. This deal at VideoPro is even cheaper than the lower spec A7G which is around $1699 most places.

From the Hisense website.

With Hisense QLED Quantum Dot Colour and Full Array Local Dimming, the Hisense ULED 4K Series U7G TV offers smoother, more fluid picture quality that bursts with colour, clarity and striking contrast. With premium features such as Dolby Vision™ HDR and Dolby Atmos Audio, TV-bingers and movie-buffs will find deep satisfaction in the superb audiovisual experience. With AI Picture Optimisation technology, the ULED 4K Series U7G TV automatically identifies and optimises image quality, regardless of what source it’s coming from. That means whether you’re watching an old movie or ripping it up in Game Mode, you’re guaranteed the best picture quality possible. With the latest version of Hisense’s VIDAA U5 smart operating system on board, searching and navigating is pretty much instantaneous.

I am pretty sure they won't ship 85" and above units to anywhere but QLD

      • This post is for a 75” TV

          Really?

          Wow.

Yes I know. Just pointing out in the bigger sizes than this, shipping isn't even available outside QLD….

    • Why have 2 different freight rates? What are the prerequisites for the business premium rate?

  • I went into the Helensvale store on the Gold Coast and they quoted $50 local delivery.

  • Thanks again CCP for another great deal.

  • I'm trying to decide whether to buy the 65" version of this or the LG C1 at almost 3 times the price. C1 is flawless but struggling to justify it. Any opinions?

I'm in the same boat. Not a gamer.

If you are not a gamer, consider the Sony A80J OLED as it might be a bit better than the C1 depending on your use.

The Ai Upscaling, sound and colour out of the box (without calibration) is better on the A80J. Also most people prefer the Sony GoogleTV user interface over the LG webOS, and GoogleTV is likely to get more frequent updates and longer support.

Just my 2cents but given we are more than halfway through the 2021 cycle, you should consider waiting the 3-6 months until the 2022 TVs are released.

The rumour is that most of the OLEDs will be coming with Heatsinks that allow better brightness. Even if they are not so impressive or worth the price, their release should push down the price of the C1.

In terms cheaper QLED vs expensive OLED it depends on how sensitive you are to small increments in picture quality. Most people don't notice a big difference unless they see the QLED and OLED TVs side by side. If you are upgrading from a LED TV that is 5yrs or older, the upgrade to Quantum dots, FALD and AI Upscaling will probably mean you will be blown away by the QLED.

Not sure if this helps, good luck mate.

    • So I ended up getting it. The picture quality is terrific and even though I have a Chromecast with Google TV plugged in they have quite a few native apps built in. I forgot what a pain it was to sign into all my streaming services again. The back light is also an improvement over my other Hisense which is side lit.

      • Hey Zaphod, congrats on your new tv. Can you please share some more detailed impressions? I need a tv for watching netflix mainly. I’m looking for 75” with good upscaling, no stutter or artifacting but I don’t feel like splurging $$ for all those advanced specs people are excited about. My current tv is 13 years old 46” lg that does fine for me, just too small.

Hi loropy9, My initial impressions are that the backlighting is so much better than edge lit and the upscaling looks beautiful. I am sure those that are videophiles will find differences between the more expensive models but I can’t pick them. The inbuilt apps are plentiful which makes it easier for those who struggle with third party dongles like Chromecast with Google TV. As a bonus Videopro have now dropped the price by another $20. Now $1650. https://www.videopro.com.au/product/hisense-75u7g-75-uled-4k…

          • @Zaphod42: Thanks Zaphod, sounds great. I just came back from the shops where I was watching a7g, u7g and sony x90j side by side with the same air tv chanel playing on all three. While the sony had better picture quality, I wasn’t convinced it was enough to justify such a high premium. The motion, stutter and upscaling looked identical on all three - all very good in a slow moving scene.

            • @loropy9: So did you get the u7g 75? I just ordered online. @zaphod42 can you confirm about the picture quality? Some folks are saying the contrast is terrible cause the 75inch uses an IPS panel. Any review on the picture quality would be fantastic!

              • @gorr80: I haven't bought anything yet. The pressure from the movie bingers in my family has subsided a bit recently, so I'm not in a rush. I'll probably get it when the whinging picks up again :)
