  • great price but I already have too many..

  • Literally talking to my brother about needing a new mouse and this exact model 2 hours ago. Glad I didn't buy anything then.

I am replacing the wired version of this and not because of any functional failure on its part… just that the rubber grips are well worn. Significantly so on the thumb rest and where my ring finger rests on the right hand side. I assume this is likely to take place again in however many years it has taken the wired one to wear?

    • +5

The plastic on Logitech mice wears very fast down to a shiny surface where fingers rest.

Wear is probably the wrong word, perhaps "polish" might be better. The surface has a diffuse lustre and turns shiny where fingers have been rubbing.

      • The plastic where my fingers rest isn't the issue… it's the rubber where my thumb and ring finger rest and, to a lesser extent, where my little finger sits.

        • I've got the same thing happening with my g403, I just says it's been moulded to the shape of my hand :)

          • @Jetilingo: Maybe I need to just push through… it's at the uncomfortable stage, so perhaps I need to continue the molding process.

        • Same, tho mouse is still useableā€¦

          • @Danneo: Yeah, mine is still useable. Completely functional, just uncomfortable where my thumb is.

  • Using one right now, if a solid scroll wheel is important you may revert to an MX Master (like me).

    • Wait, please tell me they've fixed the unbalanced scroll wheel issue on the 502.

      • I can only compare it to the MX Master 3 and G700s, but this has a very wobbly low quality middle scroll feel in comparison.

People on the fence, remmeber the g502 X Pro comes out soon

      A man needs a date

      • Nothing solid but word in the grape vine is April

    • Any info on this? Really interested. Can't seem to find anything on google.

      • +1

Some talk on reddit: here and here

        • Thanks! So exciting. I loved my g502

    • +1

      Isn't it called a G502 X Plus?

      • Yeah it's the plus, always get pro and plus mixed up with all the shit out there

    • +1

Why do I want the Pro over the Wireless version? It looks fairly similar to me?

  • How are these gaming mouse when ergonomic ones? Like MX Ergo

    • +1

Are you asking how ergonomic these feel?

Using a wired G502, very comfy in hand. Have been using it for the last 3-4 years, no complaints at all.

      • Yeah, I'm not into gaming but don't mind gaming monitors, chairs, systems etc since they're comfortable.

        • +4

There's a surprise, I am into gaming, but can't stand gaming chairs. Much prefer a good ergo chair

  • Need the G402 to come down in price. Wired devices are pro-gamer devices.

  • I've owned the original g502 with hero sensor and currently using basilisk hyperspeed. Not sure if I'd pay the premium for the g502? Unless somebody can explain the benefits that make up the price gap $55 basilisk vs $136 g502

    • +2

I'd pay the $55 to avoid needing any Razer software. And I never really had great experiences with their peripherals (has been a while though), build felt cheaper and they didn't last very well.

      • +1

I don't know if Razer has changed their software in the last few years, but the last Razer product I had required to signup for a Razer account to use basic functions such as macros. To add insult to injury the software requires log in to work and stores the settings online, so if you lose internet access you may not be able to use the software at all.

        • thankfully that is not the case any more, you can just use a guest account and dont need online connectivity. I dont like any brands software that they make u install with their peripherals (logitech, corsair, razer) but Razers is the least offensive of the 3 for me, with Logi being the worst these days. Unfortunately tho on my 2 systems im stuck with using all 3 due to using peripherals from each. Obviously though, its all badly designed pointless bloatware and we would be far better off if all functionality could be had from a simple windows control panel type interface. And holy shit dont get me started on the state of RGB software from all brands..

    • I can't go back to a mouse that doesn't have the hyperscroll toggle for productivity tasks like spreadsheets, surfing the web and video editing. Although I much prefer the way the MX Master (and old MX Revolution) handle the toggle, being able to set a friction limit at which scroll turns from clicky to freespinning.

I think that mechanism takes a bit more weight compared to the way the G502 and similar hyperscolling mice, which is why Logitech don't put it into their gaming mice.

    • more buttons

    • I have both a Basilisk and G502. They're both great mice, but I found that I missed having the DPI clutch on the G502, so I went back to the G502. The shape/ergonomics feel very similar though, so if you don't care about the DPI clutch, then both are fine options

  • Just be mindful, the cheaper $134.98 price is not eligible for Prime Delivery.
The $136.79 priced item is eligible for Prime, although delivery states eta of 18th Feb which isn't exactly 2 days from now.
I grabbed one at the higher price regardless!

  • Now i wonder do i need the fourth mouse on my desk…

  • +2

Have 3 of these. All of them garbage. Double click or will release while still being held. Loved Logitech mice for 15+ years. First one double click issues within a week, replacement, within hours, 3rd one within a few hours of use.

If no double click issues were a problem I'd still be in love. Never had the double click issues on the wired version, think they cheaped out and went to cheaper switches. Time to take 3 apart, replace switches, sell.

    • do you think logitech mx master 3 is better than this one for similar price?

      • mx master 3

    • Yes, Logitech double click is what steered me towards a Razer mouse instead.

  • What's better, this or Razer Viper Ultimate?

    • Not a good comparison.

      • Viper Ultimate competes with the G Pro X / Superlight.
      • G502 Lightspeed competes with the Basilisk Ultimate.

Personally, I went with the Razer Basilisk Ultimate.

  • +1

Baffle at the lack of true Logitech G9x alternative. That mouse was really good. All i see are skinny and long mouses for gaming. Anyone got recommendation similar to the g9x? small grip, awesome free wheeling and adjustable weight.

    • +2

I don't think I've ever been as satisfied with a keyboard and mouse since my G15 and G9x.

    • This and the Razer Basilisk Ultimate are the best claw grip mice ive come across. If you find a true alternative to a g9x, let me know :)

    • I packed my g9x and g19 away to make way for the g pro wireless and g915 (both full size and TKL versions)

    • I still have my G9 - I'm looking at this as a replacement, mainly from the software and number of buttons side of things.

  • should i get the glorious deal or this one? is this one 3 times better for 3 times the price?

  • I'd get this, if my wired G502 middle click hadn't failed. Doesn't inspire me to fork out for wireless, just to have that button fail again. Otherwise great mouse.

  • -1

    no thanks.

  • +2

    Down to $126

  • Got this for $50 from Catch Christmas sales, wouldn't justify more for this mouse.

  • I think this is part of the newer models where they used Chinese manufactured Omron switches instead of the older Japanese Omron switches. I have the G903 and had double clicking issues after 2 months. I ended up just buying my own Japanese switches and soldering them myself.

    • How do you know if it is the chinese or japanese swiches? Is there a way to tell from the pictures?

  • I have one of the wired one, the rubber grips breaks off after 2-3 years .
I would not buy any logitech mouse with rubber grip.
