street prices in my experience are always the cheaper one haha

      Unless your buying a car…..

      • depends on who you're buying them off ;)

    • Unless you're talking about a steel sports watch in 2022

  • What's the ghetto price of the watch?

    • +8

      tree fiddy

  • What’s the back of the van price?

  • Lol, love the description. Upvoted!

  • +2

if you're tempted for the watch and have to really think about it, it's probably not a good idea. ozbargain not ozconsumerism.

    • +1

Eh, it is decent for this watch. Just because it isn't a $30 casio which would do the same thing (tell time), doesn't mean people don't want a good quality product for a good price, even if it is expensive.

      • I didn't imply that. I'm all for expensive watches.

      • $30 casio will also last you 20 yrs.

        • Not really fair to be comparing Oris to a god tiered Casio though!

    • +4

Are you kidding, this site is all about people buying shit they will never use simply because it's a 'bargain'. You can't get more consumerist.

      • +1

Exactly, how many times have you read "Thanks OP, don't need it but bought one anyway"

  • Amazing discount.

  • Beware skinny wrist it's not a small watch, 45mm case size (lug to lug comes to play too but didn't bother checking that far).

  • +1

45mm - too big for my tastes, thankfully

  • +2

That day date position is terrible with the 3 as well.
Just get a IWC for pilot watches. Agree, most are massive.

    • +2

Yeah agreed….. I'd rather they didn't put the day complication on there at all (and tbh with only 30m water resistance I could even do without the date complication)

    • +2

Stowa or Sinn would be my choice insetad of an IWC for the prices IWC attracts!

      • I know right, IWC is expensive but the anti-reflective coatings make it look amazing, my mate has the 3 complications one

        • Stowa uses AR coating as well, and Sinn is amazing e.g. the 556i which has double AR coating (on the outside as well) which makes it appear like there is no glass. It is a masterpiece. Unfortunately I have large wrists and I think the 38.5mm is slightly too small so I "settled" for a 40mm Stowa.

          • @Gina Rinehart: Could have always got a Laco for the larger flieger experience… ;)

But yes, a Stowa has been on my wish list for years because of the size and the slightly more conventional lug style, even if that makes it a bit less 'authentic' looking.

            • @MonkDog: Yeah I wasn't quite satisfied with the Lacos, though at the end of the day you can get a very similar product.

              • @Gina Rinehart: Yeah, they seemed to have a bit of a question mark about quality for a little bit I think, but I think that got fixed a while back too. But as I said, there's something about a Stowa.

          • @Gina Rinehart: Cheers will check them out, actually just noticed a review of the Sinn 556i on jomw YouTube. Looks pretty good, simple and clean. $2k AUD is a bit rich though

      • Agreed. I'm looking at a Stowa, Laco or Archimede for my next purchase.
IWC's are great but their marketing dept is better. (A-la Rolex). You're price of entry is tied to all the freaking exposure they have.

    • They should have left the "3" off the dial. What were they thinking. It looks like a Cylon Raider or something.

  • -1

I don't work for the RFDS so not applicable to me.

  • -3

    Thanks OP got 7!

    • +4

If the hands moved in the picture, then nobody would need to buy the watch. Think, McFly. Think!

  • I would get it if it werent for the format of the numbers and that theres no open back to this thing.

    • Display caseback on a tool watch with off the self non decorated movement? Just why?

      • +1

Even if its not a fancy movement, I still enjoy looking at an open glass back.

      • -1

Ikr! I too find it silly when supposed tool watches come with display casebacks. But then in reality maybe 90% will never actually be used as a 'tool' or see more action than a desk so it makes sense to show off the movement atleast

  • I would've bought it if I wasn't saving up for another model. Nice looking piece!

  • +1

Will they let me have a go at the controls on the QA737 Bris to Syd leg if I'm sporting this baby?

  • +1

Oris makes some absolutely gorgeous watches like the Upcycle and the bronze tiffany blue diver. This one just looks kinda 'meh' with the date window covering up the 3 on the dial for some reason.

Still a good price for an Oris watch, this is an Oris I'm okay with skipping however.

  • Was looking for the bargain thanks for sharing bought one :)

  • -1

    Never heard of this brand

    • +7

You must be new to watches

    • Never heard.
Gshocks i like.. these are dress watches.. does oris make sports watches?

    • Has heard of migoreng
Seriously, oris are great, mostly love their diving watches.

  • -3

not even titanium for this price? Stainless Steel is cheap

  • 30m water resistance, 45mm case size, 38hr power reserve.
Nothing much going for it, other than the brand name.

    • Yeah the case size is a bit big for my taste. The mega sized watch trend seems to be finally dying.

    • Get an oris aquis, much better
      Or a 65.

  • Any OzB sales on Patek Philippe watches?

    https://www.google.com/search?q=patek+philippe&rlz=1C1GCEB_e…

    • +1

I'm saving up to buy this one.

      • I'd pay about treefiddy for that

      • +1

Incredible watch and almost one of a kind.
1.54million at auction,,, pounds probably! That's crazy expensive.

        • He said 250k in the vid, but not doubt someone would pay more if they wanted it

          Servicing would be a killer.
