  • Wonder if OW will match it for further 5%. Would they match without adding the shipping cost to the total ?

OW doesnt have the white one so i doubt they will price match it

      • True!
Just called the local OW, they said they wont price match unless they are exactly the same! :(

  • What's happened to the MLN and Centrecom war in recent times?

  • What's Better, the new iPad or the Tab?

I'm a big fan of android and love it on my phone but from everything I've read the ipad is a better buy.

    • The new ipad is made by samsung :p - so hardware wise its better. (better value aswell at $499)

      although…. Android > iOs

Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi is roughly the same as iPad 2 wifi. The new iPad has a much better screen, better GPU, but is thicker/heavier than both iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1. The new iPad screen is fantastic.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi is about the same price as iPad 2 16GB wifi version (BigW: $399). Samsung does "borrow" the good bits from iOS and put them in their customised version of Android (e.g. Screen Capture on screen button - a nice touch I must say, and the Settings screen does look similar to iPad).

      How to choose:

      • If screen resolution (better than 1080P/Full HD) is important to you & you don't mind paying $100 more -> get the new iPad.
      • If you MUST have a real GPS on your tablet but you don't want to pay the extra $$$ for the 3G models -> get the galaxy tab 10.1 (though to be honest, the Tegra 2 in built GPS is not that good)
      • If you like to customise your tablet a lot, or Adobe Flash is a must or you want to use USB keyboard, USB joystick, USB 3G dongle, or USB hard drive with your tablet -> get the galaxy tab 10.1 (you need an adapter though)
      • If gaming is quite important to you (or there are simply too many iOS apps you like that are still not available on Android yet) AND the $100 extra is too much -> get the iPad 2.
      • If you want a really good screen, but you want Android -> Asus Transfomer Prime TF700T (the new one with 1080p screen) or wait for the next Samsung tablet.

If you cannot decide -> get the new iPad (since you are asking — probably means you are a non-IT person so an Apple device is a slightly safer/better option). To be honest, you cannot go wrong with either one of the three (16GB wifi version). All 3 are good and have pretty decent resell value at the moment. Personally though, I would only recommend an Android tablet if it is priced lower (preferably 20% or more) than the equivalent Apple i device.

Apple is just a great simple brand. They make sure their products are easy to use. However, reviews say that if you buy an apple product, it's hard to change because you are stuck with the easy to use software. I own both an iPad and Tab, and I must say they both are great, but because Im used to owning Apple products it's hard to change. The galaxy Tab is great but just not right for me.

        But still GO GALAXY TAB.
        GO THE NEW IPAD.

It is hard to change because iOS still has more apps. Also, the longer you wait to start using Android, the harder it will be to change (since you would have missed out on the Android specials - 1 cent apps, 10 cents apps, free app of the day from Amazon etc…).

For example, Amazon has given away at least 5 office apps (free app of the day). If you were to buy them in the iTunes store, they would cost you at least $10 each (so $50). Flight Track was 10 cents before on Google Market/Google Play. Lots of cool apps for 1 cent each during the special celebration/promotion. I know you can "download" those Android apps easily, but that's not the right thing to do.

Acer Iconia A500 16GB for $249 last year from the Good Guys was a pretty good deal.

aha - I like this bit.

I got a new ipad and love it. Wicked screen. Im a pc user and android phone guy but think apple offers a better tablet experience.

      • Apple iPad still can't (refuses to!) play flash? I'd say it's a no brainer to get an Android tablet if that's true.

  • Galaxy tab ftw

  • Galaxy … Has Swype and tweetdeck, both of which you don't have on the iPad.

  • I'd say this wouldn't be worth it. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is scheduled for release in the near future, and the price is supposed to be $399. But still, cheaper than all other options at the moment, so good deal.
