I received a letter today advising that Vintage Cellars will no longer be offering points for purchase. Points will stop accruing at the end of April 22 and cellar shares will be redeemable until the end of December. There is no detail about the revamped program other than to say there will be member only offers.
I quite liked the cellar share points because I knew they were worth 5% and, while much of vintage cellars stuff is exey there always some bargains that were made better by the cellar share points. It also helped there was a store a short drive away. I’m not sure now whether it will be as compelling buying from there but it will be interesting to see the details are known.
I too am disappointed.
We regularly bought a specific favourite wine that was best-priced at VC, and accrued points for the shares.
We also used VC when buying up for a social function; so easy to do, accumulate points, etc.
