vpn run by company that makes sketchy software (clean my mac). would stay away. even though its free, your much better off with a paid vpn (mullvad/ivpn/windscribe)

Oh well, you cannot really trust any of them, even if they are paid.
CleanMyMac is pretty good and even Apple support recommends it to people. Yes it's a paid product with a fancy GUI for running basic scripts but it's handy for things like the uninstaller (basically the Mac version of Revo Uninstaller) and the autorun manager is very convenient too. I am not sure if there is some shady history behind it i'm unaware of as I only started using it with the CleanMyMac X redesign.
Whats wrong with CleanMyMac? Ive been using it for years and think its fantastic. Recommend it to everyone. Provides the easiest way (to a non techy person) to free up space on a Mac that is full.
bloatware. doesnt do anythning that you cant do on stock macos.

I’d go Keepsolid. Found this one to be slower and inconsistent.
