laser please.. buying an inkjet printer is a crime in 2022

    • +2

      Unless it's an ecotank.

      • Is ecotank a Epson only thing?

        • Tradename. Canon have one (Megatank) as well as HP (Smarttank).
The Canons are not reliable, and breakdown within Wty, or outside Wty, so steer clear.

LOL @ that last line item

    who's buying inkjets in 2022?

i have a HP Laserjet and even that loks the toner carts down hard w/ drm

    • You should check to see if there is a FW update to remove the DRM. I've read about some printer companies doing this with the ongoing chip shortage affecting chips in Cartridges.

      • +1

Yeah saw that. Effing eat it suckers.

    Nice photostat machine

  • Any recommendations for laser printer

    • Black & White or colour?

Brother MFC range in B&W is good value and most (all of those under $500?) take generic cartridges.

      • +1

Yeah Brother's aren't bad and even some of the entry level Fuji Xerox MFD's are Brother OEM.

      • No complains for the laser printer i bought for my folks. Even bought them a bunch of third party toner cartridges.

        Recommendations for colour?

        • +1

Bought MFC-L3745CDW at TGG commercial for $320 plus $35 shipping

  • I got rid of my AIO inkjet. As I dont print regularly, the head often clogs. I ended up spending 10 minutes just to print 1 page. Time spent on head cleaning. Sometimes even after multiple cleaning and alignment, it still didnt work.

    • Better off getting a laser printer if printing on occasion only.

      • -1

Not if you need to print colour and need it for your business… I print about 1000 pages a month.

        • +1

Well you are not exactly printing on occasion with 1000 pages a month. My folks be lucky to print 100 pages a month if that.

  • Cheaper directly via shopback from HP $319 minus code for first online order (10%) minus $50 Cashback minus Cashback from Shopback plus half a year printer ink signing up for instant ink and an extra year support and warranty. I paid at the end only $230.57 delivered to SA plus 7 months ink (found another code to stack on the 6 months free instant ink… booomm! https://www.hp.com/au-en/shop/hp-officejet-pro-9010e-all-in-…

  • inkjets are still good if you print regularly and need sharper, better looking images, but if you are only going to use it once every few months, then don't get inkjet.
