Costco in Dandenong South? Can anyone confirm?

I've noticed a large building being built on the Dandenong bypass, and been asking a couple reputable sources in the area, believe its going to be CostCo.

Can anyone confirm this? there is not much info on Google.

If its true would you start shopping there? It would be good for this part of Melbourne.

Theres one opening where the ringwood market used to be in 2013 so i dont think there'll be one in dandenong as well just yet, although it is smart in terms of where they could strategically locate it to gather business from both sides of melbourne

Pretty sure they would have announced it before building if it was a Costco.
It could also be a Masters hardware store that are going up all over the place.

OT: I also read that with all these super stores looking for the same parcel of land its forcing Aldi to change its strategy and look for retail space in established shopping centres.

I can confirm its not bunnings or Masters, I work in the hardware industry.

The ringwood option has been rumored for years. I guess we have to wait and see :)

Ringwood, dandenong, docklands cover the 3 points of the city very well.

    There is a masters earmarked for Dandenong, apparently on princes hwy/dandenong road. Not sure when the keysborough one starts.. I live just behind it, will be good!

      According to the local rag down there the Springvale/Cheltenham Rds Masters began construction May 2011 and is expected to open October 2012.
      I've not been down that way recently to check if it has actually begun or not.

I know the current Melways has the Ringwood costco on there, my copy isn't with me at the moment but it might say what's happening at Dandenong

Most recent reference to Costco in Dandenong I could find from the Casey Weekly.
Westfield Fountain Gate has been flagged as a possible site because it is close to EastLink, the Monash Freeway and a large residential catchment.
