Aruba 1930 8-Port Instant On Managed Gigabit Switch JL680A $169 Delivered ($0 VIC/ NSW C&C) @ Scorptec

30

Delivery is free for Scorptec orders over $99.

Seems to be normal price, but compared to other stores online it is significantly cheaper.

A good price if anybody is after an 8 port managed gigabit non-PoE Aruba Instant On switch. Obviously there are other options if you don't want the Instant On system.

Is that "instant on" a special feature of Aruba?

Please execuse my ignorance, aren't those sub $50 8-port switch instantly turn on when you connect to power?

    • +1
    • No it does not refer to the device instantly being ready and on from power application. Pretty much cloud based management unless U tell it not to. We had a few 48 ports that takes a few minutes to initialise to being ready.

      • Thank you both, @bdl and @id

Not feeling insecure, but I am unsure why got negged asking a genuine question

  • Last time I attempted to make a warranty claim with Aruba, it was rather painful. It was very different when this line of switches were sold by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) - the warranty process with HPE was super smooth.

    • Thanks for the info. I don't have any experience personally with Aruba warranties, however a work colleague RMA'd one of his APs and said it wasn't too bad, just a little slow.

      • It may have been, because my original purchase was via eBay. At the time HPE would happily replace any units, even if they were obtained via eBay - even second hand. Aruba, not sure whether their policies had changed, but it was a bit difficult since they usually only provide warranty support to business accounts - which mine was just for home use.
